[Clearwisdom.net] On Jan. 1, 2001, I, a Falun Dafa practitioner, went to Tiananmen Square with another practitioner about 10:00am and unrolled the banner "The Fa (Falun Dafa's principles and laws) is rectifying the universe". Suddenly several policeman rushed towards us, threw me down and stepped on me while punching and kicking me and then dragged me by the hair into the police van. I was then taken to Puhuangyu Police Station in Fengtai district, Beijing.
During the night of Jan. 3rd, the temperature dropped to minus 11 degrees (celsius). Nine practitioners from different places in China, who had been held for over 50 hours and had been on their hunger strike for 3 days, were awakened and made to stand against the wall and given the cruel treatment of being exposed to the frigid air of a powerful electric fan. In the midst of such indescribable hardships, these practitioners still tried to arouse the consciences of the policemen, but it became obvious that these "people's police" had no more human nature left since they continued the punishment. I was taken out of the detention room and questioned as to why I didn't report my name and address. I replied calmly: "I do not want to trouble either the security department or my relatives, nor do I want to assist in an unjust persecution of innocent practitioners." But they didn't listen to me, instead they slapped my face constantly. Moreover, I was pushed into a chair and swiped with an electric baton until my whole body was black and blue and they had become exhausted as well. Then I was tossed outside and had chilly water poured over my head. They even tore open my clothes so as to fill them with cold water. They taunted me by stating the temperature and yelled at me to give my name. I spoke to them: "I will expose you, letting the whole world know of your sinful deeds." Those wicked men were irritated and pushed me to the ground, pouring three more buckets of water on me. I was forced to stay outside for half the night until I was then taken into the room in my still dripping wet clothes and had the fan turned on me.
