The team prepares to depart

On August 16th, a press conference was held by the Falun Dafa Club of the Students' Society of McGill University. The club co-ordinator stated that "in the midst of the darkest environment, Falun Dafa practitioners have let the wisdom and kindness developed through their practice shine, and have continually appealed to people's hearts through non-violent means."

This conference was to launch a regional effort joining the Cross-Canada SOS tour. A team of four practitioners will visit over 15 cities and towns and travel over 2,700 kilometers (approx. 1,700 miles) in the provinces of New Brunswick and Québec. They will be gathering signatures for a petition, raising awareness and showing the gentle exercises of Falun Dafa. A second team will cover an 1,800 kilometer (approx. 1,100 miles) route in Québec, and will depart soon as well.

A statement from the team mentions that "Falun Dafa is magnificent, good and noble [...] Every practitioner, whether they are Canadian, Australian, Russian or Chinese, every practitioner around the world, wants in their heart, and sincerely works towards, being good, always measuring themselves in relation to the universal characteristic of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance."
