(Clearwisdom.net) My name is Chou Sihui. I am a 30 year-old resident of the city of Anshan, Liaoning Province. In May 1998, I became acquainted with Falun Dafa. After I began the practice, both my mind and body were purified and reached higher levels.
The Chinese government, directed by President Jiang Zemin (named a "human rights scoundrel" by Amnesty International), has persecuted Falun Dafa since July 22, 1999. My fellow practitioners and I went to Beijing for a peaceful appeal to the government. All of us were arrested by the police and taken to a nearby gymnasium. That night we were taken to a police station. On October 17, 1999, my husband Liu Qiang and I were married. We went together to Beijing for another appeal for justice for Falun Dafa. On October 21, the police arrested my husband. On October 22, two other practitioners and I went to the Grievance Office to ask for his release. There were policemen all around the office. Even before we had the chance to enter, we were arrested and taken to Anshan Municipal Government Resident Office in Beijing, in the Jianxin Hotel. I found my husband there along with more than 20 other practitioners who had been illegally arrested. We were body searched, my husband's ID was taken away and 1,800 yuan (translator's note: about four-months salary for an average Chinese urban laborer) was confiscated.
On October 23, we were sent back to Anshan city where we were jailed in the No.3 Detention Center of Anshan. More than 80 Falun Dafa practitioners were being held there. We were monitored by other inmates. When practitioners began doing the Falun Dafa exercises one night, they were stopped, handcuffed and hung up by the hands. We started a group practice to show our determination to appeal such inhumane treatment. The guards scrambled to stop us. More than ten police officers began beating us up with plastic pipes and wooden rods. Some kicked us with their heavy boots and others slapped us. One officer started kicking me, dragging me to where other practitioners were handcuffed to a metal fence. We were all brutally beaten. Practitioners recited "Lunyu" (the introduction given in Teacher Li's books), which effectively eliminated the evil. The same afternoon, three practitioners were sentenced (one of them to a prison term, the other two were sent to labor camps). I was sent with a group of about twenty female practitioners to Anshan Female Independent School. The so-called school was full of female drug abusers and prostitutes, for whom the "school" was founded. The police asked two drug addicts and one prostitute to watch over a Falun Dafa practitioner. I was pregnant and was feeling very sick. A tall, skinny police officer threatened me by saying, "If you don't transform soon, we'll force you to have an abortion." This truly frightened me. Seven additional Falun Dafa practitioners were confined at the "school" while I was there. Every morning we were forced to do military-style training, such as long distance-running and memorizing the "school" regulations.
Some practitioners realized that no matter what, we should study the Fa and do the exercises, so eight of us got up at midnight to practice. Later on we were caught by the police officers and put together. We wouldn't cooperate with them and continued to do the exercises, so the police ordered some other inmates to tie us up in an extremely painful fashion. We then started reciting Teacher's articles. The inmates then slapped our faces and stuffed our mouths with dirty rags. They swore at us with the most disgusting words while beating us up. We decided to go on a hunger strike to protest the unfair treatment we've been subjected to. While we were on the hunger strike, we were forced to do hard manual labor. One day, I was feeling exhausted and very dizzy. I fell off the 3 meter high work station. None of the guards helped me, they didn't even bother to ask if I was alright.
Fifteen days later, both my husband and I were taken back to Jiefanglu Neighbourhood Public Security Office, where we were met by our relatives. After we went home, police and local government officials continued to harass us, spy on us and asked us to write a statement renouncing Falun Dafa. They even asked the neighbors to spy on us.
On June 28, 2000, my daughter was born. In September, my husband was caught again for handing out Falun Dafa materials. We had to report to local officials when we went out. Our telephone was being tapped and we were followed when we went out. A few days later, a wiretap was found in my house.
When fall came, it was getting too cold for my baby and I since our home had no heat. We went to my mother's house for a couple of days. A policeman by the last name of Ni, who worked in the area where my parents live, came and threatened my parents so that they would ask us to leave. In order not to bring trouble to anyone else, I returned to my own freezing cold house with my baby. The house was so damp and cold that my baby's hands turned ice cold five minutes after they were out of her gloves.
One day, a policeman named Zhao and the Chief of Jiefanglu Neighbourhood Center came to my home to fine me 2000 yuan (note: about four-month salary of an average Chinese urban worker). I said, "My husband is the only source of financial support. Now you have arrested him. What I need to eat, drink and for the clothes on my back are all borrowed from other people. I have no money." He said, "Our superiors have told us that we can seize your appliances if you have no money." Then they took my new refrigerator away. Where could I ask for justice!
When winter came, there was no way to heat my home so my child and I could not stay there. We returned to my parent's home. The police came at once when they heard that I was there again. They shouted, cursed and threatened me in my parent's home over and over. The Chief of the Neighborhood Public Security Office frequently came and harassed my parents. Since I could not be safe there, I had no choice but to leave and wander around like a nomad, leaving my child with my parents.
My husband received inhumane treatment in jail. My daughter became an orphan who cannot enjoy her parents' love. We are asking governments and kind-hearted people all over the world to show their support and help Falun Gong practitioners in China. Stop the Chinese government from persecuting Falun Gong!
