Facts of the Persecution

Falun Gong practitioner Wang Houji, a former employee from Dalian Port Company was arrested and detained in Dalian Detention Center because he went to Beijing twice in October 2000 to appeal for Falun Gong. In April 2001, he was sentenced to 2 years of "re-education" through forced labor. When he was sent to the Dalian Forced Labor Camp, the labor camp refused to accept him because his blood pressure was found to be abnormally high during the physical examination. However, Wang's family was extorted 5,000 Yuan [equivalent to 10 month's salary of an average urban worker in China] to bail him out for medical treatment. Because Wang Houji refused to write a "guarantee letter" [to renounce Falun Gong], he was subsequently fired by his company. In November 2001, Wang went to Beijing a third time to validate Dafa and was arrested again. He was then sent back to Dalian Detention Center. In July 2002,Wang was sentenced to 2 years of forced labor and then transferred to the Dalian Forced Labor Camp.

News and Activities around the World

On March 27, 2003, Ms. Dai Zhizhen, a practitioner from Australia, and I, went to Bern, the capital of Switzerland to accept interviews from the Society for Threatened Peoples and Tele Tell, a TV station in the City of Luzern. Members of the Society for Threatened People talked with us for two hours. Before we left, they said, "Thank you for your courage!" On the morning of March 28, we met a reporter from a newspaper in east Switzerland. This reporter was quite familiar with Falun Gong. He said, "Today, I see victims in person, I feel quite different."
