On the evening of April 25, 2003, Dallas Falun Gong practitioners held a three-hour activity on JFK Plaza that included group practice, a candlelight vigil, and sending forth righteous thoughts to commemorate the 4^th anniversary of the April 25 peaceful appeal. The activities drew the attention of passers-by, some of whom wanted to learn the exercises right then.

Ottawa Practitioners Commemorate the Fourth Anniversary of the April 25 Peaceful Appeal: Around 4:30 pm on April 25, 2003, Ottawa Falun Gong practitioners held a candlelight vigil in front of the Chinese Embassy in Ottawa to commemorate the fourth anniversary of the April 25 peaceful appeal. At 6:00 pm, practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts as a group. Afterwards, practitioners read speeches with the theme of "The April 25 Peaceful Appeal by 10,000 Falun Gong Practitioners Is a Paragon to Safeguard Mankind's Justice and Conscience." Practitioners explained the historical background, gave details about the April 25 incident, and used hard facts to expose the Chinese authorities' cruel persecution of Falun Gong practitioners over the last three plus years. The activity concluded at 8 pm.

Cultivating Falun Dafa Allows a Serious Illness Sufferer to Regain New Life

Going to Beijing four times to explain the facts and to validate Dafa: I used to have serious heart disease. Before I obtained Dafa, I suffered with various kinds of illnesses. After I started cultivating Dafa, I gained health and a new life. After the persecution started, to validate Dafa, I went to Beijing four times to appeal. In the face of the persecution, while clarifying the truth, and treating sentient beings with kindness, I used righteous thoughts to confront the vicious persecution, which effectively shocked the evil. One time, our local forced labor camp arrested some of my family members. I went to the labor camp to ask for my relatives to be released. The officers of the camp then wanted to keep me there. When my daughter heard the news, she went to the labor camp. She said with indignation, "Before my mother practiced Falun Gong, she suffered a massive hemorrhage. My mother is now healthy. If you harm her in any way, I will risk my life to fight you!" While she was saying this, my nose suddenly started bleeding. The police officers became very fearful and said to me, "Alright, never mind, you can go now!" Under Teacher's benevolent protection, our family returned home safely.

In 2001, my friend went to Beijing to attend a conference. He and his colleague visited Tiananmen Square. He joked with his colleague and asked him whether he dared to practice Falun Gong on Tiananmen Square. My friend said, "You will be in trouble if you simply raise your hands." His colleague did not believe him. While chatting, he raised his hands. Instantly, he was surrounded by several big men and pressed to the ground. Seeing this, my friend became frightened. While trembling with fear, he explained to the police officers what had happened. Only after the police officers contacted the organization hosting the conference and confirmed that they were not "Falun Gong practitioners," did the police set them free. My friend told me, "Plain-clothed police officers are everywhere on Tiananmen Square. There wouldn't be time for you to sit on the ground with your legs crossed, pour gasoline over your body, and set yourself on fire. When I watched the "Self-immolation" incident broadcast on CCTV, I could immediately tell that it was faked."

How do we get rid of calamities like "atypical pneumonia"? My friend's cousin suffered from terminal cancer and his family had already prepared for his funeral. My friend wrote on a piece of paper, "Falun Dafa is good, Falun Dafa is a righteous Fa" and led his cousin and family members in sincerely reciting the words on the paper. Shortly afterwards, his cousin escaped from danger. An ancient teaching said, "Good deeds will be rewarded with good and evil will meet karmic retribution." Those who choose to believe in "Truth-Compassion-Forbearance" are all good people and consequently will be rewarded with a good future.
