1. [Linqu County, Shandong Province] Police and Government Officials in Linqu County, Shandong Province Illegally Arrest and Beat Dafa Practitioners
Instigated by police officers Ding Guihua, Zhu Weile, and Ye Tongmin, the Head of the Civic Office of the 2nd Brigade, Sun Binglong, led several people to beat Dafa practitioners. Among them, Lu Hongyue injured Dafa practitioners' eyes, and Mao Xingyue beat on Dafa practitioners' feet with a foldable stool. Some others also joined in beating Dafa practitioners.

2.[Pingyu County, Shandong Province] Dafa practitioner Sun Zhaochen from Sunjialou Village, Wutai Township Is Illegally Arrested
On the evening of July 2, 2003. Mr. Sun Zhaochen was illegally arrested by police officers from the Wutai Police Station while he was delivering Dafa truth-clarifying materials to Xianjia Village, Wutai Township. His whereabouts are not known.

3. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] 65 Year-old Dafa Practitioner Illegally Sent to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp to be Persecuted
Ms. Liu Qiuxiang, 65 years old, attained Dafa in 1996. On March 8, 2003 when she was delivering Dafa truth materials, police officers from the Heishijiao Police Station arrested her. The second day, her home was searched and her Dafa books and lecture-CDs were illegally taken away. Liu was sent to the Yaojia Detention Center in Dalian and illegally detained one month, then, she was sent to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp for further persecution.
4. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Dafa Practitioner Wang Wenhua Suddenly Disappears
Ms. Wang Wenhua disappeared on June 25. Since then, no news about her has been heard.
Wang was illegally arrested in 2001 for making Dafa truth-clarifying materials and was illegally sentenced to 11 years' imprisonment. At the end of 2001, after going on a hunger strike, she was released and forced to leave home.
5. [Shasonglin Township, Jilin Province] Dafa Practitioner Ms. Guan Peilan Is Released after Going on a Seven-Day Hunger Strike
In mid-May 2003, Ms. Guan Peilan and over 30 Dafa practitioners were encircled and arrested by police officers while having an experience sharing conference. Three police officers took turns torturing her. At the lunch break, police officers hung her upside down, and beat her up after lunch. Police officers tortured her for a whole day until they were too tired to continue. With her righteous thoughts, Peilan went on a hunger strike for seven days and was released.
Other practitioners are still detained and their whereabouts are not known.

6. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Dafa practitioner Xu Dan from the Linhe District Is Illegally Arrested by Police officers from the "610 Office"
On June 30, 2003, Dafa practitioner Ms. Xu Dan who is a teacher at the Liuhua Primary School, Linhe District was illegally arrested by police from the "610 office" [a bureau specifically created by the Chinese government to persecute Falun Gong. It has absolute power over each level of administration in the Party, as well as over the political and judiciary branches].
7. [Shanghai, China] Dafa Practitioner Lin Xiang from Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province Is Illegally Detained at Shanghai City
On July 5, 2003, Mr. Lin Xiang was illegally detained by police at the Jinansi Branch of the Shanghai City public Security Bureau while on a business trip. The pretext was that "sensitive" materials were found on him.
