In November 2001, Dafa practitioner Fan Maixiu from Hengyang City, Hunan Province was illegally sentenced to one year of forced labor because she posted Dafa truth clarification flyers. The evil could not send her to the labor camp because she was ill, so the thugs ordered her work unit and her family to monitor her. On June 15, 2003, Fan Maixiu was arrested when inserting flyers in books at the Baixin Book Market. Thugs from the district police department and national security division ransacked her home and they took away more than 1,000 truth clarification flyers, two VCDs and more than 20 cassettes.

Up until June 2003, four Dafa practitioners were still being illegally incarcerated at the Chaoyang District Detention Center in Shantou City, Guangdong Province. Among them, the well-respected Chinese medicine doctor Ma and his son, a university student, have been detained for nearly six months for clarifying the truth to people. Another two practitioners are ordinary farmers from Gurao Town, Chaoyang District. They were sent to Chaoyang District Detention Center only because they told people the truth about Falun Gong.

On June 22 and June 23, Falun Gong practitioners in Edmonton and Slave Lake, in the Province of Alberta, Canada participated in an Alberta village gathering held in Joussard. They distributed flyers to organizations and people at the gathering. They also clarified the truth and collected signatures from people who support the lawsuit against Jiang. From 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., they demonstrated and taught Dafa exercises. The organizer of the event was very supportive of Falun Dafa, and one person in charge volunteered to help distribute the flyers. He also invited the practitioners to return next year.

Resisting the efforts in a brainwashing class with righteous thoughts; offering compassionate salvation to people: Prior to the Chinese New Year of 2001, I was forcibly sent to a brainwashing class. Practitioners on the outside sent me Master's new scriptures. Once, a "help group" of persecutors from Harbin City came here. When I told them they would meet with retribution for persecuting Dafa, their face turned pale with fear. During detention, we practitioners used every opportunity to clarify the truth. Eventually the prisoners said, "You Falun Gong practitioners are all good people."

Once, the vicious police cuffed several practitioners to a window and had planned to torture them this way for four days straight. I sat in the meditation position and sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil in other dimensions. I concentrated my thoughts on making the police unlock the practitioners. A few minutes later, the police came over and unlocked them. I realized Master could help us when our righteous thoughts are strong. One day, half a year into my detention, I felt extremely uncomfortable. The thugs at the brainwashing class were afraid of me dying, so they released me. I began a new journey of Fa-rectification as I clarified the truth to my family, friends and ordinary people.

Free Asia June 26 report: Kumar, the Asian advocacy director for Amnesty International urged the Hong Kong government not to hastily implement Article 23 of the Basic Law, because "this legislation will violate the basic rights of Hong Kong citizens." [paraphrased] At the same time, U.S. Representative Christopher Cox introduced House Resolution 277, "Expressing Support for Freedom in Hong Kong." He pointed out that the obscure phrasing of Article 23 and the amount of power it gives the administrative departments, allowing them to deprive people of their rights of free assembly and publishing is surprisingly huge.

My sister-in-law told me a story: An elderly woman from a neighboring village bought some vegetables from one of the vegetable vendors in the market, her relative. A while later, she returned and said, "You counted wrong. I felt I got more than I paid for. I went home and weighed the vegetable and found out I owe you 40 cents. I practice Falun Gong and cannot take your vegetable for free. I'm here to give you the money." The relative was touched and said, "Ma'am, you Falun Gong practitioners are so kind. You are different from what is said on TV. The TV only tells lies."

My understanding regarding "he is full of great aspirations while minding minor details" ("Sage" Essentials for Further Advancement): Previously, I used my narrow understanding and only paid attention to validating the Fa and clarifying the truth. I didn't care much about some minor shortcomings I had. This shows my poor enlightenment quality. I didn't strictly discipline myself and I condoned large amounts of demon nature, or evil. Although they were minor things, they show my xinxing standard. When we resolve conflicts between ourselves, fellow practitioners, friends and family members, we are validating Dafa. We came for the purpose of assimilating to the Fa and validating the Fa!
