Facts of the Persecution

In order to reach the "transformation quota," many extreme measures are used in the Shayang Labor Camp, Hubei Province. The beatings have injured many Falun Dafa practitioners. A special police unit which tortures Falun Dafa practitioners one by one has been established there. Later, a strict control unit was established, where practitioners are openly tortured all the time. For example, they are deprived of sleep, given physical punishment, shocked with electric batons, closely monitored by drug addict prisoners or prisoners who committed sex crimes. Many Falun Dafa practitioners have had their terms extended unlawfully. Zeng Xian-e from Shiyan City, Hubei Province was tortured to death there.

Righteous Thoughts and Righteous Actions

The following is an excerpt from an article, "As Long As We Believe in Master and Believe in Dafa, No Trial Cannot Be Passed."

I am a teacher in China. I was fortunate enough to obtain the Fa at the end of 1996. I have found that cultivating Falun Dafa is my only pursuit and the ultimate goal of my life.

After July 20, 1999, my husband tried to force me to give up cultivation. Police from the local station and my employer all put pressure on me, but I never stopped cultivating. I only had one thought in my heart: never give up Dafa. During the winter vacation of 2001 (January to February), I went to Beijing to appeal again. I endured more than ten different kinds of inhuman torture after being arrested, such as being slapped in the face, being kicked, being tied up with rope, being grabbed by the hair and having my head slammed against the wall, having my face dunked in a toilet with feces, and so on. The police also shocked me with electric batons all over my body for several hours. Although it was extremely painful, I was not moved even a bit nor did I make any sound. I recited Master's Hongyin (book of poetry) and called out Master's name. I was not afraid nor did I feel any discontentment towards Dafa or have the feeling like I wanted to give up Dafa.

Two months later, I escaped with strong righteous thoughts. At the end of 2001, the evil abducted me and brought me to a detention center with the excuse that I had clarified the truth to my students. This time, my husband threatened me with his own suicide, my son threatened to cut off our mother-son relationship, and the police threatened to sentence me to two years in labor camp. My family even wanted to send me to the hospital and pretend that I was mentally ill. I recited the Fa all day during that period. I had only one thought: I absolutely would not go to a labor camp. I walked out of the detention center three months later in an open and dignified manner. Upon returning home, my school assigned me to clean the yard and the bathrooms, plus I was assigned to watch the gate. They saw me never give in after two semesters, and then they let me teach again. I deeply enlightened from passing these trials that a cultivator can pass any trials as long as he firmly believes in Master, firmly believes in Dafa, and keeps strong righteous thoughts. If our hearts deviate from the Fa one bit, or if we have any ordinary people's mentalities, we will be in for trouble.

News from Around the World

August 16 was the day the state of Michigan in the United States had its "Dream Cruise." Falun Dafa practitioners drove vehicles back and forth that had Falun Dafa banners posted on them. Practitioners divided into more than 10 groups to pass out flyers, and collect signatures to rescue American citizen Charles Li. The big power outage happened right before this weekend. The power returned to Michigan the night before Saturday. Practitioners had the flyers printed on the early morning of August 16, and three fully prepared vehicles were ready to go with the grace of Falun Dafa.

The following is an excerpt from the article, "Foreign Expert Talks about the Risk of Speaking Out In China."

I worked almost three years in the media controlled by the Chinese Government. I should have known that accepting an interview by an American Station during the peak of the SARS epidemic meant stepping out onto thin ice. But I would never have imagined that this was going to cause me to lose my job, to force me to move out of my apartment in 48 hours, and to be put on a blacklist so that I am prevented from working in the media and publishing field ever again.
