On May 30, 2003, police abducted Ms. Zhang Maoying, a Dafa practitioner and an official from Division 293 of China's Nuclear Industry Geo-exploration Institute. That same evening, her family received an arrest warrant. At first, Zhang Maoying was detained at the Huadu Detention Center in Guangzhou City for more than three months. Her family and friends have not heard from her since her illegal arrest.

During the past two months, Dafa practitioners Wang Yanxin, Mu Kunli, Mu Chunhua, and Liu Wansu from Xuchang City, Henan Province were being illegally held at Xuchang City's Detention Center where they were persecuted. Dafa practitioner Ms. Mu Kunli was force-fed numerous times because she held a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention.

The persecutors at Guizhou Province Female Labor Camp "strictly isolate" determined Falun Gong practitioners. These practitioners are forced to eat and relieve themselves in the same room; they are not allowed to sleep except during the time when they are forced to stand for an extended period of time; they are detained in solitary confinement and are subjected to brainwashing. In January 2003, the temperature was below the freezing point, yet the guards forced over a dozen Dafa practitioners to stand outside in the military posture for a whole day. The guards forced the practitioners to work more than twelve hours on a daily basis; even elderly practitioners in their 70's were not spared.

The Labor Reeducation Bureau in Beijing organized a so-called "strike-hard" class where the guards order inmates to torture determined Dafa practitioners. The torture methods include: solitary confinement, food deprivation, corporal punishment, and sleep deprivation; they don't allow practitioners to wash themselves or brush their teeth, and they don't allow them to use the restroom for a long time every day. The guards also illegally extend the practitioners' terms, retaining the practitioners' lawsuit papers. The guards abuse their powers to send people to forced labor; they don't allow family visits and try their best to cover up their crimes, for they are afraid of their crimes being exposed.

On August 8, Dafa practitioner Mr. Xu Naiwen, a retired teacher living in Harbin City was abducted and sent to Shuangcheng City's Party School Brainwashing Class. Mr. Xu held a hunger strike to resist the persecution. Half a month later, Xu changed from a very healthy and brawny man to a bag of skin and bones and was on the verge of death. The perpetrators were afraid of taking responsibilities if Xu dies, so they told his family to take him home on August 20.

This is the third time Xu was illegally arrested and detained. He had previously been illegally sent to forced labor, fined, and his pension was taken away. During the time Xu Naiwen was held at Acheng City Detention Center, the perpetrators hit the temples on his head and also his neck; they kicked his sides and didn't allow him to go to the restroom. During a subsequent 27-day solitary detention at the Changlinzi Labor Camp, Xu was forced to sit on a metal chair with his back tied to a pole. He was forcefully given intravenous injections and was force-fed; he wasn't allowed to sleep and the perpetrators threw him outside to expose him to the freezing weather.

Icelandic government officials claimed they didn't invite Luo Gan for a visit. Luo Gan, one of the head criminals responsible for planning the persecution of Falun Gong had arrived in Iceland. Aside from receiving protests everywhere, he also became the defendant in a lawsuit charging him with genocide.

Another odd thing - the Icelandic government didn't invite Luo Gan! Luo Gan and the Chinese government had initiated this visit. The Icelandic government was caught off guard. Guer n Erlendsd ttir, head of the Icelandic Supreme Court commented on TV, "He [Luo Gan] personally asked to meet with the head of the Supreme Court. However, I have no idea why he wants to talk to me or what he wants to talk to me about."
