Good evening. I am honored to speak to you.

First, let me introduce myself. I am Mr. Roemer from Falkenstein and I am a volunteer in the counties of Cham and Regensburg for the International Society for Human Rights, located in Frankfurt.

Tonight in Cham, we are experiencing something out of the ordinary, something that has probably never occurred in this area before. An innocent lady, who has been persecuted in the country with the worst human rights record, will tell us about her prison and forced labor camp experiences.

I sincerely welcome Ms. Xiong Wei. It is wonderful to know that you escaped the state-sanctioned Chinese terrorist system and are able to practice Falun Gong freely once again without being persecuted. I welcome you back with all my heart.

This grand occasion could only be accomplished with the help of the German government, many friends and in particular with the help of the human rights organization: the International Society for Human Rights.

Falun Gong, also called Falun Dafa, is a traditional meditation practice. Falun Gong has no desire to get involved in politics. This peaceful movement is governed by the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance. Are such principles a reason to be cruelly and insanely persecuted? Every country should be honored to have citizens living by such principles. Over seventy million people practiced Falun Gong in China.

Falun Gong was introduced to the public in 1992. In 1999, former Chinese President Jiang Zemin initiated police terrorist activities that included mass arrests, arbitrary execution and the murder of Falun Gong practitioners. The so-called "610 Office" ordered murder, as well as torture and brainwashing. There are over 1,000 victims of such murder. This is unbelievable when you consider that in the beginning Falun Gong was supported because of its health benefits to those who practiced it. Tens of thousands of innocent Falun Gong practitioners are imprisoned or detained in forced labor camps.

China is internationally considered the number one country for torturing her own citizens. We know that Falun Gong practitioners are not the only ones persecuted. Christians and the Mongolian and Uighur minority groups are persecuted as well. The genocide on the Tibetans and has disturbed the cultural structure in that country as well. It is intolerable that the 2008 Olympic games are going to be held in that inhuman police state.

We would like to make you aware of the intolerable human rights situation in China, and we hope that this will be an informative evening with Ms. Xiong Wei. There will also be a dance performance and a stirring movie before the day's events conclude.

A request from deep within my heart to all of you: Please become a human rights defender. Please begin by signing the petition.
