Practitioner Mr. Liu Mingzhong, 22, is a farmer of Yanglin County, Yunnan Province. He was arrested for distributing Dafa truth-clarifying material in 2003 and was sentenced to three years of imprisonment. He was sent to the No. 8 Team of the First Prison in Yunnan Province. In late May 2004, he fell from the fifth floor and was sent to the Provincial Prison Administration Bureau Hospital. He is disabled. We hope someone can provide detailed information.

During the last few years, in order to persecute Falun Gong practitioners, personnel from Xi'an City's "610 Office" (1) and their accomplices have run ten series of brainwashing sessions which they forced practitioners to pay for. They arrested practitioners and ransacked their houses. Some practitioners were even carried away from their homes. If a practitioner and his family would not open the door, they would pry the door open, or even break in through the windows to arrest the practitioner.

Because practitioner Mr. Zhu Aixian did not give up Falun Gong practice after July 20, 1999, when the persecution began, a gang from the Xi'an City Xincheng Police Precinct, led by Zhou Xiaoyu, often went to harass Zhu and search Zhu's home. Zhu Aixian has been arrested five times. After three of the five illegal arrests he was tortured in brainwashing sessions and fined almost 40,000 Yuan (2). He is still being held in a brainwashing program.

Persecutor Zhou Xiaoyu also fined many other practitioners from 3,000 to 40,000 Yuan because they practice Falun Gong. More than twenty practitioners are still being held in brainwashing programs; some have been held there over six months. Everyone is separated into a small room accompanied by a "Teaching Assistant" who monitors and controls practitioners. No outside visits are permitted. Practitioners were forced to watch the TV programs and read books that slander Dafa. Practitioners also were interrogated in turn and forced to write the "Four Statements." During the afternoon of June 16, 2004, policemen Chen Jinghai and Yang Hong from the Longquan District No. 62 Community, Chengdu City, led more than ten persons to break into the home of practitioner Sun Yufang and arrest this practitioner.

During the afternoon of June 16, Dafa practitioner Luo Yunzhi from Jilin Province went to Xinzhan Town in Jiaohe City to distribute truth-clarifying materials. Someone reported him to police and he was subsequently arrested and held in Jiaohe City's Detention Center in Jilin Province.

During the night of June 14, 2004, policemen from the Luobei Police Precinct of the Kunming Steel Company, Yunnan Province, arrested Dafa practitioners Gao Mingxian and Gao Yunxian, who posted truth-clarifying materials, and forcibly took away Wang Hongfen from home. Now Gao Mingxian and Wang Hongfen are being held separately in the Security Section of the Kunming Steel Company and the Anning Detention Center, respectively. It is unknown where Gao Yunxian is being held.

In April 2004, practitioner Ren Tingfen was arrested from home and sentenced to two years of forced labor.

On March 24, 2004, practitioner Xu Yanlin was arrested from home and was held in the Security Section of the Kunming Steel Company for thirty days.

In October 2003, practitioners Feng Baoding, Gao Huixian, Ji Kaichun and Ai Zhonghua were arrested. The first three practitioners were sentenced to two years of forced labor.

On around April 25, 2004, officers from the Shijiazhuang City Qiaodong Police Precinct arrested Dafa practitioner Ms. Ren Yanzhi from home. On about May 1, 2004, they sent her to the No. 5 Division in the Shijiazhuang City Forced Labor Camp where she was forced to give up her belief. She hasn't been released.

Recently, Dafa practitioner Cai Zili and other practitioners from Zunhua City, Hebei Province were captured and taken to detention centers or brainwashing classes by persons from the "610 Office." Families were not permitted to visit these practitioners, and their houses were searched.

Some pictures and slogans slandering Dafa were posted in the waiting rooms in Fuxin City's Long-distance Passenger Transport Station in Liaoning City, which wrongly influenced a great deal of passengers every day. At the beginning of May, Dafa practitioner Song Guiyun and Zhang Guozhen from Fuxin County went to the station to distribute Dafa truth-clarifying materials, but the local police precinct officers and county police department personnel arrested them. The policemen blocked the information of their arrest and didn't provide any answers to their families' inquiries of their whereabouts.

Dafa practitioner Jia Jincheng, 58, is from Yaoziying Village, Qumo Township, Yongnian County, Hebei Province. At 8:00 a.m. on May 13, policeman Liu Weijun and three other policemen tricked him into appearing at the Qumo Township Police Precinct. Lawless policemen Liu Weijun told him to follow them to the police precinct and assured him they would be back soon, but he had not returned by 3:00 p.m. His family then went to the police precinct to ask for his release. In the end, the family had to hand over 3,600 Yuan for his release. Not long after that, Jia was abducted and taken to Handan City's Brainwashing Program.

Before practicing Falun Gong, Jia Jincheng had nephritis (a kidney disease) and heart disease, so he couldn't work. He had spent lots of money on medications, but the medication was not effective. After practicing Falun Dafa, all his diseases disappeared, and he could do all kinds of work. Who knows why the police would reform these practitioners, and into what?

After confirmation, policeman Liu Weijun even forced an old man in his 70s to act as a false witness to frame Jia Jincheng for distributing fliers.

Recently, Dafa practitioner Guo Fengxian from Jiangchuan City, Yunnan Province, and two Dafa practitioners from Tonghai City were arrested for explaining the facts about the persecution of Falun Dafa.

Notes:

(1) 610 Office: an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.

(2) 500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China.

(3) Four statements: Practitioners are coerced under brainwashing and torture to write these as proof that they have given up their belief. Created by the "610 Office," the three statements consist of a letter of repentance, a guarantee to never again practice Falun Gong, and a list of names and addresses of all family members, friends and acquaintances who are practitioners.
