Practitioner Shi Yun has been on a hunger strike in the Zhishu Team at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp for 40 to 50 days.

The torture of practitioner Zheng Juxiang from Dalian City was aggravated in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.

Officers from Xiangzhou District's Police Precinct secretly re-arrested practitioner Mr. Lu Pingyi from Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province in the middle of July. His whereabouts are unknown.

Lu Pingyi was arrested in 2000 for making Dafa truth-clarifying materials; he was sentenced to three years of imprisonment. After his release, he re-joined the work of exposing the evil and clarifying the truth. This work led to his renewed arrest.

Xiangzhou District Police Precinct

On June 9, 2004, policemen from the Wuchang District arrested practitioner Li Guiping from Wuhan City when she was distributing Dafa truth-clarifying materials in the Zhuodaoquan Area, Wuchang District. Ms. Li was detained for 15 days before she was transferred to a brainwashing class.

Practitioner Ms. Wang Changfeng is a 65 years old widow. During the afternoon of June 16, 2004, a group of policemen led by Jin from the Yongqing Street Police Precinct, Jiang'an District, Wuhan City, broke into Ms. Wang's home through the back door and ransacked her home. They arrested Ms. Wang and took her to the Chenjiaji Brainwashing Class. The officers from the Yongqing Street Police Precinct have arrested many practitioners.

During the evening of July 22, 2004, practitioners Ms. Shu Fengling and Ms. Zhang Xiumei from Magang Township, Xinchengzi District, Shenyang City were arrested by lawless officials from the local "610 Office" and the police department. Practitioner Ms. Liu Yafang from the Erjing Hospital, Xinchengzi District was also arrested the same day when she was making Falun Dafa truth-clarifying materials.

On July 26, personnel from the Party Working Committee and Comprehensive Administration Office of Huale Street in the Dongshan District, Guangzhou City, in conjunction with people from Dongshan District's "610 Office" arrested practitioner Ms. Zhang Li from Guangzhou City. They put her into a so-called "Legal System School" in Guangzhou City, which is in reality a torture and brainwashing location. Following are particulars:

Zhang Li had been released from Guangdong Province's Female Forced Labor Camp on February 29, 2004, where she had been deprived of sleep and suffered tortures. There are still some burn marks on her neck left by electric batons. In October 2003, she issued a solemn statement [declaring void anything she may have said against Falun Dafa while under pressure] in the labor camp and resisted the persecution with righteous thoughts and righteous actions. The police threatened that they would either extend her forced labor term or send her to a brainwashing class, but she firmly believed in Dafa and Master Li, and realized that a Dafa practitioner should not forbear the vicious persecution at all. She clarified the truth while sending forth righteous thoughts. On February 29, 2004, Ms. Zhang was released to go home. After getting back home, she continued clarifying the truth and exposing the persecution. Unfortunately, officials in the "Comprehensive Administration Office" found her and arrested her.

Because Dafa practitioner Wang Shaohua, an employee of the Huanghe Drilling and Reinforcing Mine Company, refuses to give up Falun Gong practice. He has been detained at three different places, for over three months at each location: Wang Village, Shengli Oil Field's Shengcai Brainwashing Class and Shengli Oil Field's Jishu Brainwashing Class. Wang Shaohua has been held since October 25, 2003 to the present.

Mr. Feng Tao, an employee for the Shengli Oilfield from Xianhe Town was going to get a promotion for doing a good job at his company. However, the promotion was contingent on his giving up Falun Gong practice. Because Feng Tao refused, he was sent to the "610 Office" Brainwashing Class.

When Ms. Chen Shufen, an employee of the Shengli Oilfield from Xianhe Town, traveled out of town one day, someone stole her handbag with her ID card, driver's license, Hong Yin [a collection of Master Li's poems] and other personal belongings. The thief reported her to the "610 Office." Her work unit tried to force her to write the "Guarantee Statement." Ms. Chen refused. They laid her off for a month, afterwards sending her into the custody of the "610 Office."

Practitioners Fu Jun, a Chinese teacher for Xiantao City's No. 8 Middle School, and Hu Youfa, an official of the City's National Tax Bureau, Hubei Province, have been arrested and put into a brainwashing class for nearly two months.

Practitioner Tong Dongxiang's detention term in the Shayang Forced Labor Camp was unreasonably extended by five months.

Practitioner Ms. Zhang Hongyi is a retired worker from Mudanjiang City's Water Company, Heilongjiang Province. She was recently arrested for the fourth time. According to fellow practitioners, Zhang Hongyi often clarified the truth on public occasions and in public environments. She has been held many times and frequently stopped the vicious persecution with righteous thoughts.

Dafa Practitioner Ms. Zhu Bilan had been held in the Beibei Detention Center ever since Falun Gong was suppressed on July 20, 1999. She was not released until the spring of 2003. Two or three months after her release she was arrested again and was sentenced to imprisonment. Zhu Bilan's younger sister and daughter went to the prison to visit her, but the prison authorities refused to let them see Ms. Zhu.

Zhu Bilan's husband passed away during that time, unable to stand the long-term stress of his wife's detention. Their school-age daughter was left at home without care. A happy family has been broken up. Because of the family's poverty, the daughter now has to get tuition loans amounting to thousands of Yuan (1) each year.

Around July 12, 2004, the Meizhou City Police arrested 50-year-old Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Shizhen from his friend's home. At the same time, the policemen also arrested two other persons who don't practice Falun Gong. One of the two was extorted 3,000 Yuan for "bail," and the other had 5,000 Yuan extorted. The lawless policemen said they would return the money if the two people agreed not to go to Zhang Shizhen's home or talk with Mr. Zhang's family.

Zhang Shizhen is currently being held at a detention center near Meizhou City's Dongfeng Cement Factory (the detention facility's name is unknown).

Recently, local police arrested practitioners Jiao Mingfeng and Chen Shuhui from Qingshan Township in Yushu City. In order to find out the source of Dafa truth-clarifying materials, the policemen tortured them with excruciating methods. The two practitioners are suffering inhumane tortures at present.

Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Shuhua was tortured to death by personnel from the Yushu City Police Department.

In November 2003, Ma Wenbin, an officer from the Liaoheyuan Town Police Precinct, in collusion with seven or eight other policemen, arrested Dafa practitioner Mr. Pan Baojun from Dongliao County. They extorted 5,000 Yuan from his family, justifying their action by saying that Pan Baojun refuses to give up practicing Falun Gong. They threatened to send Pan Baojun to a forced labor camp for three years. Having no choice, Pan's family had to borrow money everywhere and the police released Mr. Pan after they got the money.

The Qitaihe City Police Department recruited 50 government officials by open examination. Two children of Dafa practitioners passed the exam, one from Qitaihe City, and one from Boli County, who were at the top of the list. But the Politics Section of the Qitaihe Police Department annulled the two youth's qualification with the disclaimer that their mothers practice Falun Gong, thus making them unqualified for the official positions.

The candidate from Qitaihe City, who was the second best among 50 qualified government officials, appealed everywhere. He went to the city authorities and other related departments, as well as the related provincial departments. All concurred that a mother practicing Falun Gong should not affect the child's study and work opportunities. The Politics Section of the Qitaihe City Police Department, though, acted independently, persisting in their own decision. They gave that highly qualified candidate's position to someone who had failed the examination. They also put the mother's information on the Internet and lied, saying that she was at large. Furthermore, they dispatched policemen to spread rumors everywhere. It was clear that they did this because lots of people knew of the scandalous decision of the Qitaihe City Police Department, that was made known after the Dafa practitioner's child appealed. It was well known that all other government departments had agreed that a mother's belief system should not affect a highly qualified person's job opportunities.
