Raising Awareness about the Persecution of Falun Gong

Falun Gong practitioners couldn't understand why the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) would persecute such good people, who cultivate themselves according to "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance". When talking about how he felt at that time, a practitioner named Sven said, "I really did not believe my eyes and ears. I did not understand how on earth the Party could do this. Why would it persecute those kind people? Just for their wanting to be healthy, cultivating Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance, and being good people? I had never heard of such things. Also, before the persecution, I went to China many times. How many people there were practicing Falun Gong? You could see them whenever you went to the parks; everywhere people were practicing Falun Gong. Why would the CCP punish and persecute those good and kind people? I knew many of them, and knew that they are so kind. I didn't understand."

At that time, the Western media did not know what Falun Gong was, and they spread the CCP's slander about Falun Gong in their reports. Because of these misunderstandings about the persecution, Falun Gong practitioners started to talk to others about their own experiences, telling people that Falun Gong is a way of cultivation that teaches people to be good according to "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance" and brings both mental and physical health. They told everyone that it is wrong that the CCP persecutes Falun Gong.

Sven said, "Even at my job, my colleagues all read the propaganda in the newspapers, much of which was translated from CCP newspapers. I had never heard that sort of language before. At the beginning, I only laughed at how stupid the slander was. Then, we let them know the facts, telling them not to believe the CCP propaganda. It was very difficult at the beginning. Many people thought that we were very dangerous, and some Chinese people were very afraid of us. However, we have been consistently explaining the truth to the authorities, to politicians, and to the general public, step by step, year in and year out."

Besides talking to Swedish citizens and politicians, Sven has been to nearly 35 countries, including Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Egypt, and Israel. He works very hard at work, with no breaks, then spends his own savings and travels all over the world clarifying the truth. Everything he has done is to bring the CCP persecution of Falun Gong to an end and to let people learn the facts about Falun Gong and not be deceived by the CCP's lies and slander.

Other Swedish practitioners have used many ways to help more people learn about Falun Gong. They go out in public, setting up booths and giving out leaflets, demonstrating the five sets of gentle Falun Gong exercises, and telling people about how Falun Gong is such a peaceful practice. They have displayed photos of practitioners that have been persecuted in China. Through anti-persecution displays, they have been exposing how practitioners are being tortured in China and calling for help to end the torture.

After the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party was published by The Epoch Times newspaper, practitioners also helped promote the Nine Commentaries, because they systematically and impersonally revealed the facts of why the CCP persecutes Falun Gong. The Nine Commentaries reveal how the CCP's nature is completely opposed to what Falun Gong teaches. More and more people are starting to learn the truth and support Falun Gong.

Many people have signed petitions supporting the end of the persecution. During open days in schools, teachers helped practitioners distribute materials and introduce Falun Gong. The open TV station in Stockholm reported the CCP persecution of Ms. Gao Rongrong and other practitioners in a special program. Askensten, the reporter, said in the broadcast: "Regarding the scale of the persecution of Falun Gong, the CCP can well be counted as one of the worst human rights violators." The program called on people to pay attention to this persecution and to take action to help end the persecution.

A Swedish non-governmental organization, the Organization to Support Human Rights in China, has joined the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (CIPFG) and is looking forward to helping the CIPFG in further investigating the persecution, especially the CCP's crime of removing organs from living Falun Gong practitioners.

The "Truthfulness, Compassion Forbearance International Art Exhibition," made up of works by Falun Gong practitioners, has been shown at various venues in Sweden. At an exhibition in Stockholm, MP Harald Nordlund said in his opening remarks, "All of us can use a variety of ways to show that we will not tolerate the CCP attacks on and slander of freedom and human rights. We must stand on the side of the victims in this persecution and many other people whose human rights are being violated, and we must uphold justice for them. We can report and expose this persecution, telling people about the persecution and passing along good information through a variety of art forms."

Music is also a way of spreading the facts. Swedish practitioners have set up a musical group. They not only compose music, but they perform as well. What they are saying is very clear: "Stop Persecuting Falun Gong."

Practitioners all over the world have one thing in common: they won't give up their belief. They will keep using every method possible to tell people the facts, and together will end the persecution of kind people in China.
