(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 14 provinces. In this report, 44 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 25 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Xiaozhen Arrested
On the morning of September 8, 2009, Ms. Chen Xiaozhen was turned in to the police while she was distributing brochures on Binhe Street in Huangxu Town, Deyang City. Officers from the Huangxu Police Station arrested her. Later they searched her home. Ms. Chen returned home at 6:00 p.m. that afternoon.

2. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhu Zaifeng Arrested Again
Ms. Zhu Zaifeng lives in the family quarters of the Wuhan Music Institute. At around 9:00 p.m. on September 30, 2009, she was arrested by assistant officials of the Huanghelou Police Station while she was distributing Falun Gong informational materials. She was taken to the Hankou Detention Center the same night.
3. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Xiaolan and Three Other Elderly Practitioners Arrested
At noon on September 22, 2009, Ms. Zhong Shulan and Ms. Wang Dejun's mother went to visit Ms. Xu Xiaolan in the Lijiazhuang area, Kangzhuang Town. Shortly after, 10 plainclothes police officers forced their way into Ms. Xu's home. They started searching without following any legal procedures. The police confiscated over 100 copies of Minghui Weekly, a portrait of the founder of Falun Gong, and Falun Dafa books. They arrested the three practitioners and Ms. Shan Huilian, another elderly practitioner who happened to be visiting Ms. Xu. The four practitioners were taken to the Kangzhuang Town Police Station before being released after 4:00 p.m. that afternoon.
On the afternoon of September 25, officers from the Dongguan Police Station again arrested Ms. Shan Huilian at her home. She is being held at the Gaomi Detention Center.
4. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Additional Information on Ms. Wang Yuzhe under Arrest
On September 13, 2009, officers from the Dongguan Police Station arrested Ms. Wang Yuzhen at a farmers' market in Gaomi City. The police then searched her home and confiscated a brochure about Falun Gong.

Ms. Lu Yan lives in Ershe Village in the Kaiyuan area, Tieling City. She was turned in to the police for telling others the facts of the persecution during a wedding reception. She is being held at the Kaiyuan Detention Center.

7. [Hebei Province] Information on Practitioners Arrested in Anguo City, Boye County, and Li County in Hebei Province
On September 23, 2009, the chief of the Baoding City Police Department directed over 20 officers from the Public Security Bureau to Anguo City. He gave orders to officers in Anguo City, Boye County, and Li County to arrest over 30 practitioners and search their homes. Several practitioners managed to escape, but they had to leave town with nowhere to stay.
Practitioners arrested in Anguo City and whose homes were searched were: Mr. Li Chao, Mr. Jin Tonghui, Mr. Zhao Yuran, Ms. Lu Jianhui, Ms. Tian Hua, Ms. Kong Huijuan, Ms. Cao Liqing, Mr. Xiao Xiangyu, Ms. Wang Xinling, Ms. Xiao Jing, and Mr. Li Can.
Practitioners arrested in Boye County and whose homes were searched were: Ms. Guo Shuhua, Ms. Dai Yanying, Mr. Dai Junran, Ms. Dai Xiaojun, Ms. Ling Qiaoyun, Ms. He Xingliu, and Xiao Ning. Two practitioners were released due to poor health.
Practitioners arrested in Li County and whose homes were searched were: Mr. Zhao Xiaochang, Mr. Zhu Junqiang, Ms. Zhang Xia, Ms. Gu Xiangrui, Ms. Zhu Lihua, Mr. Fang Wei, Ms. Tian Junfang, Ms. Yan Xiaoge, Ms. Rong Zhen, and three other practitioners.
8. [Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Yan Taken to Hospital
Ms. Wang Yan has been held at the Shijiazhuang No. 4 Prison. She was taken to a hospital for emergency treatment. Ms. Wang was formerly a young guard at Taihang Prison in Hebei Province. In 2004 she was illegally sentenced to 10 years in prison for breaking into the closed-circuit television system to broadcast programs that exposed the Chinese Communist Party's persecution of Falun Gong.

12. [Guan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Hongmei Taken to Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Zhang Hongmei, 40, lives in Dongsong Village, Yanzhuang Township, Guan County. On August 31, 2009, she was followed and then arrested by plainclothes officers from the Guan County 610 Office while she was telling others about the persecution of Falun Gong. The arrest took place on Donghuan Road in Guancheng Town. She was taken to the Guan County Detention Center. The police then searched her home. They confiscated Falun Dafa materials and her personal belongings.
The Public Security Bureau of the Guan County Police Department sentenced her to 18 months of forced labor on the grounds of possession of Falun Dafa materials. Around September 15, she was taken to the Shandong Women's Forced Labor Camp.
13. [Zhangping City, Fujian Province] Mr. Tang Tianzeng Arrested
Mr. Tang Tianzeng lives in Zhangping City, Fujian Province. Around October 1, 2009, officers from the Chengguan Police Station in Zhangping City arrested him. His family has not been able to visit him.
14. [Jianli County, Hubei Province] Ms. Wang Cuihua and Ms. Li Lamei Arrested in Qianjiang City
Ms. Wang Cuihua, 40, and Ms. Li Lamei, 44, are from Huangxue Town, Jianli County. On October 4, 2009, they were arrested by the local police while the two were distributing truth clarification materials in Qianjiang City.

15. [Xintai City, Shandong Province] Several Practitioners Arrested
Around September 20, 2009, three practitioners that worked at the Xinwen Poles Factory in Xintai City were arrested. On September 25, the Xintai City police broke into Mr. Zhou's home in the Xinwen area. They arrested the elderly Mr. Zhou and his wife. The police also confiscated a computer, a printer, and other personal belongings.
16. [Heilongjiang Province] Criminal Acts of the Public Security Bureau of the Mengbei Police Department
1) In December 2002, Mr. Yu Zhimin, Ms. Cheng Ling, Ms. Yu Shuang, Ms. Yu Gaoyun, and Ms. Zang Shouying from Mengbei County went to Beijing to validate the Fa. They were taken back by officers from the Public Security Bureau. The practitioners were held at the county detention center. Later Mr. Yu Zhimin was sentenced to two years of forced labor. Ms. Yu Shuang and Ms. Cheng Ling were each sentenced to one year of forced labor. Ms. Zhang Shouying and Ms. Yu Gaoyun each had 2,000 yuan extorted from them.
2) In December 2002, officers from the Mengbei County Public Security Bureau, officials of the local residential committee, and cadres of the town women's association deceived Ms. Xu Guizhen to go to the county police department. Ms. Xu refused to comply to the officials demands. She was held in a detention center for three months. She was released after Wang Jin, head of the Public Security Bureau, extorted 3,000 yuan from her.
3) In 2004, a group of officers from the Mengbei County Public Security Bureau broke into Ms. Liang Li's home. They ransacked the place and found two issues of Minghui Weekly. They took her to the detention center. She was held there for two months and released after the police extorted cash from her.
4) Late at night on October 1, 2004, a group of officers from the Mengbei County Public Security Bureau suddenly broke into Ms. Xu Guizhen's home. They took her to the detention center and held her for six days until her family paid the police 3,000 yuan.
5) In October 2004, a group of officers from the Mengbei County Public Security Bureau broke into Mr. Yu Zhimin's home. They took Mr. Yu and his wife, Ms. Cheng Ling, to the detention center. Mr. Yu was released after four days on a hunger strike. Ms. Cheng was released only after she lost consciousness in the detention center.
6) In October 2004, Ms. Li Chunying at Gongqing Farm was arrested by officers from the Mengbei County Public Security Bureau at her home. She was taken to the detention center. She refused to cooperate with the police during interrogations. The officers beat her on the face. Her face swelled up.
7) In 2002, officers from the Mengbei County Public Security Bureau broke into Ms. Dong Guilian's home. They took her to the detention center. Three days later, she was sentenced to three years of forced labor.
8) On October 5, 2004, Ms. Chi Guilan was placing truth clarification DVDs at the Zhaoxing Police Station. Officers took her to the Mengbei County Public Security Bureau. They held her in custody for over a month. She was released after the police extorted 3,000 yuan from her.
9) On March 15, 2008, Ms. Sun Jianyan was arrested by officers from the Mengbei County Public Security Bureau while she was distributing materials. She was held at the detention center for 12 days. She was released after the police extorted 3,000 yuan from her.
10) On June 30, 2008, 71-year-old Ms. Zhang Qing was arrested by officers from the Tuanjie Town Police Station in Mengbei County while she was distributing brochures. The kept her handcuffed all the time and did not let her use the restroom. Later she was taken to the county police department by the Mengbei County Public Security Bureau. She was interrogated and threatened by the police, who were anxious to find out the source of the brochures. Ms. Zhang suffered a stroke several days after her release. She has not been able to take care of herself since then.
11) On June 24, 2009, Ms. Sun Jianyan went to the Mengbei County Public Security Bureau, demanding the return of 3,000 yuan extorted by the police. Officers arrested her and took her to the detention center. They then broke into her home by smashing open the door. They confiscated a DVD burner, a printer, a cell phone, MP3 players, electronic books, and cash. Ms. Sun was taken home by her family after three days on a hunger strike. The police extorted another 3,000 yuan from her family.
12) On the morning of September 19, 2009, Ms. Pan Jingfeng was dragged into a police vehicle after being stopped and searched by the police. She was taken to the Mengbei County Public Security Bureau. The police then searched her home. They confiscated all her Falun Dafa books, an MP3 player, a portrait of the founder of Falun Gong, and other personal belongings. The police released her after coercing both her and her family to sign statements that she would not produce any truth clarification materials.
17. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Yang Jinfeng Arrested
On September 28, 2009, Ms. Yang Jinfeng was posting self-adhesive signs at the Medical School of Nanchang University. A security guard pushed her to the ground and sat on her, then called the police. Half an hour later, the police arrested her. The next day, they broke into her home while nobody was there. They searched her home and confiscated a computer.
18. [Jianyang City, Sichuan Province] Additional Information on Practitioners Arrested in September
At 8:00 a.m. on September 9, 2009, six people led by Xia Muzha, Zhenjin Town Party secretary broke into Ms. Wu Binju's home. They took her into custody. Her family was not able to find out where she was being held. According to internal sources, Ms. Wu, who is 60 years old, is being held at the Er'ehu Brainwashing Center in the Ziyang area.
19. [Jiaonan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xiao Xiuying Taken to Wangcun Forced Labor Camp
20. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Jianghu Unlawfully Detained for Over a Month
Mr. Wang Jianghu from Chaoyang City is working odd jobs in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. He was arrested while he was distributing materials. He has been held at the Dadong District Detention Center in Shenyang City for over a month.
21. [Huinan County, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Fengyan Taken to Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp
At 3:00 p.m. on August 25, 2009, officers from the Huinan County Public Security Bureau arrested Ms. Liu Fengyan, who was looking after her grandson at the supermarket her family operated. The police placed her in detention for a month on criminal charges that Falun Dafa books were found at her home. She was held at the county detention center. Zhang Yuwu and other officers fabricated evidence and had her sentenced to one year of forced labor. On September 28, Ms. Liu was taken to the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp. The labor camp officials have refused to let her family visit her.
22. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Tong Julan Arrested; Her Paralyzed Husband Left Unattended
At around 9:00 a.m. on September 27, 2009, officers from the Zhucheng Police Station and officials of the Zhanglincun Residential Committee in the Xinzhou District, Wuhan City, started a new round of harassment and persecution of practitioners. Cai Juan, deputy director of the police station, and a dozen others went to Ms. Tong's home while she was out grocery shopping. They claimed to be her students come to visit her. After they were admitted, the officers rushed into her bedroom on the second floor. They confiscated Falun Dafa books and took pictures.
Ms. Tong's husband was paralyzed after suffering a stroke. Since Ms. Tong's arrest, he has been left unattended.

Ms. Ma Guoqi, around 50 years old, lives in the Xiaobeimen area near the Wuai Market in Shenyang City. During the October 1 holidays, officers from the Shenhe Police Station arrested her and her daughter. The two practitioners are being held at the Zaohua Detention Center.
