1. [Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Fu Yu Grossly Abused and Mistreated in Jiamusi Prison

Xiangyang Court in Jiamusi City illegally sentenced Mr. Fu Yu from Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province, to five years in prison in July 2009. He was taken to Jiamusi Prison in August 2009. Since he is forbidden to petition or hire a lawyer he went on a hunger strike that has lasted more than five months. He has suffered great physical and mental trauma.

His 70-year-old mother saw him on the afternoon of October 29, 2009. He was carried into the meeting room. Emaciated and barely able to sit, he had great difficulty speaking and breathing. His blood vessels have shrunk and hardened. As a result, he cannot receive medication by IV infusion. His life is in peril.

2. [Beijing] Ms. Wei Shuqin Grossly Abused and Mistreated in Tumuji Forced Labor Camp in Inner Mongolia

Ms. Wei Shuqin, 59, from Miyun County, Beijing, is now in the Second Women's Division in Tumuji Forced Labor Camp in Inner Mongolia. A group of guards attacked her because she protested the persecution. She was sitting in bed at 9:40 p.m. on July 3, 2009, when political head Zhou Guoling suddenly grabbed her collar and flung her headfirst to the ground. She suffered a concussion and a severe laceration on her scalp, bled profusely, and lost consciousness. Zhou Guoling panicked and hastily wiped the blood from her wound and the floor. She called an ambulance. Ms. Wei received several stitches at the hospital. Two days later, guard Wang Guirong saw Ms. Wei again sitting in bed at 10 p.m. She dragged Ms. Wei to the surveillance room, forced her to sit on the floor, then proceeded to handcuff her hands and her feet to a chair until 3:00 a.m. the next morning. Ms. Wei had gastric and abdominal pain, a condition that worsened when eating or lying down, so she often sat up. The guards thought she was doing the Falun Gong meditation exercise, so they would handcuff her limbs to the four corners of a bed, forcing her to lie down and stretch out. She has become emaciated due to chronic abuse.

3. [Langzhong City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Hongying Illegally Arrested

Ms. Li Hongying from Langzhong City was talking to people about Falun Gong and handing out flyers near Langzhong City People's Hospital on the morning of October 30, 2009, when a plainclothes officer from the State Security Division approached her. She explained to him that she was helping the public learn much-needed facts and then gave him a copy of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. A police car arrived several minutes later. Five officers emerged and took Ms. Li's bag and everything inside it. They pushed her into the car and drove away. They ransacked her home later that night.

4. [Nan County, Hunan Province] Mr. Wang Jincheng Arrested

Officers from the Tiaoma Township Police Station arrested Mr. Wang Jincheng as he distributed pamphlets in Tiaoma Township, Changsha County, Hunan Province at 11:00 p.m. on October 28, 2009. His current whereabouts are unknown.

5. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] The Persecution of Mr. Zheng Pei

Officers from the Nanshu Town Police Station arrested Mr. Zheng Pei, a resident of Jiaoshuzhuang Village, Nanshu Town, Laixi, Qingdao City, in his 40s, as he handed out information about Falun Gong in a Nanshu Town market on August 10, 2009. Officer Yu Zhanjiang at Nanshu Town Police Station detained and interrogated him for one day before releasing him. The police also took many Falun Gong books and flyers from his home. The police harassed him at home again on September 3, 2009.

6. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhang Huifen's Term about to End

Ms. Zhang Huifen was arrested on the morning of October 29, 2009, while she was posting Falun Gong flyers near the Etouwan Brainwashing Facility in the Dongxihu District, Wuhan City. She was held at the Wuhan City No. 1 Women's Custody Center in the Dongxihu District. Her term will end on November 13, 2009.

7. [Huaian City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Yi Bingfu's Home Ransacked

Wang Jianzhun and other officers from the Qinghe Domestic Security Division in Huaian City went to the home of Mr. Yi Bingfu in Yaowang Village, the Xingang District, at 9:00 a.m. on October 28, 2009. They took an MP4 player, a copy of Zhuan Falun, and Falun Gong materials.

8. [Daxinganling City, Heilongjiang Province] The Persecution of Mr. Liu Jingxun, Ms. Tan Zhengrong and Others

Eleven officers from Huzhong District Domestic Security Division in Daxinganling City arrested 68-year-old Mr. Liu Jingxun and his 62-year-old wife, Tan Zhengrong, on October 29, 2009. They also ransacked their home and took computer(s) and Falun Gong materials. The couple is now in the Huzhong District Detention Center.

A practitioner in her 60s and her daughter, Fan Chunmei, who is in her 30s, were also being held at the Huzhong District Detention Center around October 17, 2009.

9. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Several Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Gaomi City Court held an illegal trial on October 23, 2009 and sentenced Ms. Mao Yongfang to six years in prison. The court later sentenced Ms. Mao Yongchun to four-and-half years in prison on the morning of October 28, 2009. Mao Yongchun can no longer walk due to torture. The condition of several other incarcerated practitioners is unknown.

10. [Taian City, Shandong Province] The Persecution of Mr. Hou Cunshang and Several Other Practitioners

Officers from the Politics and Security Section at Taian City Police Department Daiyue Branch and Fangcun Town Police Station in the Daiyue District broke into the home of Mr. Hou Cunshang, in his late 40s and a resident of Xiaozhuang Village, Fangcun Town, on October 30, 2009. They arrested him and his wife and ransacked their home. They also broke into and ransacked the home of Ms. Zhou Ailing, in her 40s, in Fangcun Town and arrested her. The three practitioners are now in the Taian City Detention Center.

The police arrested Mr. Pi Changfu and Ms. Huang Yanxia from Zhalaihe Farm in Dayangshu, Inner Mongolia, on the afternoon of October 31, 2009. They also took computers, cash, and Falun Gong materials.

13. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Latest Information on Practitioners Held at the Tianhe District Detention Center

Ms. Chen Yuanying, 59, lived in Xincheng, the Tianhe District, Guangzhou City. She was arrested in August 2009.

Ms. Lan Suiming, 59, lived in Wushan, the Tianhe District, Guangzhou City. Officers from Wushan Street Office and from the Wushan Police Station arrested her on September 1, 2009. The arrest warrant was issued on September 29, 2009.

Officers from the Wushan Street Police Station in the Tianhe District, Guangzhou City, arrested Ms. Lian Xinqun in 2008. She was sentenced to two years in prison.

Ms. Wang was sentenced to 18 months in prison or a forced labor camp in 2009.

14. [Chongqing] Ms. Li Hongrong Faces Trial--Others Arrested

A group of officers from the Baguocheng Police Station in the Jiulongpo District of Chongqing arrested Ms. Li Hongrong, in her 70s, from the Dadukou District in Chongqing. They also arrested Ms. Liu Shiying, in her 60s, and Ms. Tang Wanxiu, in her 50s. in June 2009. The practitioners are being held at the Huayan Detention Center in the Jiulongpo District. Ms. Li was eventually released on medical parole due to her age and poor health, but Jiulongpo District Court officials are planning to try her at 9:00 a.m. on November 10, 2009.

15. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Additional Information Regarding the Persecution of Mr. Liu Hongdian

Mr. Liu Hongdian from the Panyu District in Guangzhou City was stopped by security officers inside Panyu Fuhaoshanzhuang Luxury Apartment Complex in the Panyu District on October 7, 2009. They searched him and confiscated copies of the Nine Commentaries he carried and held him at the Panyu Detention Center

16. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Six Practitioners Face Trial

Zhucheng Court originally planned to try the following six practitioners on October 28, 2009: Ms. Lin Shuhua, Ms. Lu Guijuan, Ms. Dong Yuehua, Tai, Ms. Liu Xixiang, and Mr. Li Wensheng. The trial date was recently postponed until November 6, 2009.

One woman practitioner from Tieshui Village, Mizhou Street, Zhucheng City, was arrested at 2:00 p.m. on November 1, 2009. The police took many items from her home.

17. [Tianjin] Mr. Hao Yin Arrested

Officers from the Yinliu Town Police Station and from the Domestic Security Division arrested 48-year-old Mr. Hao Yin from his home in Weizhuangzi, Yinliu Town, Ji County, Tianjin, on the evening of October 27, 2009. His current condition is unknown.

Hao Yin's wife, Ms. Gao Yane, was arrested on July 2, 2007. Their four children have been left on their own. Ms. Gao is being held at the Tianjin Women's Prison. She lost hearing in her right ear and sight in her right eye six months ago. Her family requested medical parole on numerous occasions but was always turned down.

18. [Tianjin] Three Practitioners From Ji County Held at the Qilifeng Detention Center

The police arrested practitioners Li and his landlord, both in their 40s, from Wulizhuang Village, Yinliu Town, Ji County, Tianjin. They also captured Wang, in his 40s, from Qianniuwo Village around September 26, 2009. They took the practitioners to the Qilifeng Detention Center in Ji County, Tianjin, where they severely beat them and ransacked their two home-based Falun Gong materials production sites. They loaded a truck full of computers and raw materials used to print pamphlets.

19. [Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province] The Persecution of Mr. Wang Yafu

Police chief Lu Xuewei and several officers from the Xiajiabao Town Police Station in Qingyuan County arrested Mr. Wang Yafu from Huangtun Village, Xiajiabao Town, Qingyuan County on October 29, 2009, and took him to the Dashagou Detention Center in Qingyuan County.

20. [Botou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Suhua Arrested

Officers from the Wang Township Police Station in Dikou broke into Ms. Li Suhua's home and arrested her at 2:00 p.m. on October 24, 2009, right after she returned home. They took her to the Botou City Detention Center. Her temperature was dangerously high on arrival. The police feared liabilities, so they drove her home.

Ms. Li's husband died. She lives with her two sons and their wives and children. She had chosen to live away from home for more than four years to avoid being harassed for practicing Falun Gong.
