(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 21 cities or counties in 9 provinces. In this report, 21 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 17 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Mo Zhikui Arrested
Shortly after 9:00 a.m. on October 26, 2009, Ms. Mo Zhikui was arrested by the police while out strolling and holding her granddaughter in a residential community. The police grabbed the baby girl, who then cried loudly.

2. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Man Xiaomin and Five Other Practitioners Missing
Six practitioners in Nancha District, Yichun City, including Ms. Man Xiaomin, Ms. Li Fenglan, Ms. Zhang Yulan and Ms. Zhang Yaxian, have been missing since October 28, 2009.
3. [Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Xu Fengzhen Taken to Sanshui Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Xu Fengzhen was arrested on her way to work by several officers led by Cai Xinnu, an official of the local 610 Office. Ms. Xu is being held at the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp in Guangdong Province.
4. [Ren County, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhan Hua and Ms. He Xiuping Arrested
On the evening of October 25 or 26, Ms. Zhan Hua, around 50 years old, from the Xindian area, and Ms. He Xiuping, in her fifties, from the Beizhanggu Village area in Ren County, were arrested by the local police. The two practitioners' whereabouts are unknown.
5. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Practitioners Placed under Surveillance by 610 Office of Huaxing Company Affiliated with Wanzhang Petroleum Company and the Wandong Police Department
For several months, members of the 610 Office of the Huaxing Company, affiliated with Wanzhaung Petroleum Company, and officers from the Wandong Police Department have followed and placed practitioners under surveillance. They have also offered a 500 yuan reward for information about practitioners.
On September 15, Liu Yong and half a dozen officers from the Wandong Police Department broke into the homes of Ms. Hao Xiuqing and Ms. Liu Xiumei. They confiscated several Falun Dafa books. The two practitioners were taken to the Langfang Brainwashing Center. Large amounts of cash were extorted from their families.
On September 23, Liu Yong and a group of officers arrested Mr. Hu Shifu, an employee of the Office of the Under Oil Well Organization of Wanzhuang Petroleum Company. The officers confiscated a computer, Falun Dafa books and some printing materials. Mr. Hu was taken to the Cangzhou Forced Labor Camp and is serving an 18-month term of forced labor.
Ms. Liu Yuping, a retired teacher at the Schools for Children of Petroleum Employees, was also arrested during this period. The police extorted cash from Ms. Liu and sentenced her to 12 months of forced labor to be served outside the labor camp.

7. [Chongqing] Mr. Gao Yang Becomes Homeless
Shortly after 7:00 p.m. on October 27, 2009, Liang Shibin and Chen Xiaodong, from the Jiangbei District Domestic Security Branch Unit, broke into Mr. Gao Yang's home and took him to the Huaxin Street Police Station. Mr. Gao managed to break out of the handcuffs and he escaped from the police station. He has become homeless to avoid persecution.
Recently, Mr. Gao's mother Ms. Yang Songli was unlawfully sentenced to forced labor.

8. [Tianjin] Mr. Zhang Wensheng and Ms. Wu Donghong Arrested
On October 19, 2009, Mr. Zhang Wensheng, an employee of the Bohai Petroleum Research Institute in Tanggu District, Tianjin was arrested. On the same day, the police also arrested Ms. Wu Donghong, an employee at the research institute, and Ms. Wang Guiying, unemployed. The three practitioners are being held at the Tanggu Detention Center.
Mr. Zhang and Ms. Wu were sentenced to forced labor. After they were released and when they returned to work, the institute gave them only a few hundred yuan each month to cover minimum living expenses. They have written several letters to relevant officials asking them to appeal the unlawful withholding of their salaries and explaining their false arrest and the basic right of freedom of belief. During the October 1 National Day, the two practitioners were restricted from going anywhere.

9. [Hebi City, Henan Province] Current Situation of Ms. Zhang Guilian and Mr. Yue Gangqing
Ms. Zhang Guilian from the Huangwangmiao Village and Mr. Yue Gangqing from the Luoyuan Village in Qi County, Hebi City were arrested. Ms. Zhang was released from the Qi County Detention Center after the police extorted 9,000 yuan from her family. Mr. Yue was placed on trial at the Qi County Court on October 27, 2009. No decision was reached during the trial. Mr. Yue was taken back to the Qi County Detention Center.
10. [Xingning City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Xie Yujun Arrested in the Wuhua Area
On the evening of October 27, 2009, Mr. Xie Yujun was arrested in the Wuhua area. The police searched his home the following morning and confiscated a computer along with other personal belongings.

11. [Balinzuo Banner, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Li Yufen and Ms. Wang Xiaoyan Arrested
Late at night on October 26, 2009, the Balinzuo Banner police arrested Ms. Li Yufen and Ms. Wang Xiaoyan on the street. At around 3:00 a.m., six officers from the banner security division and the local police station broken into Ms. Wang's home using the keys they took after doing a body-search. They confiscated Falun Dafa books, Shen Yun performance DVDs and other personal belongings. Ms. Li and Ms. Wang are being held at the Balinzuo Banner Detention Center.
Ms. Li and Ms. Wang were previously arrested in late 2001 and April 2006. On both occasions the two practitioners were sentenced to forced labor. Their families have broken apart from years of persecution.

12. [Xingzi County, Jiangxi Province] Additional Information on Ms. Xu Yanxiang's Arrest
It has been reported that officers from the Meihui Town Police Station in Lushan District extorted 24,000 yuan in cash from Ms. Xu Yanxiang's family. Ms. Xu remains in police custody.
13. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Xiuyun, Ms. Li Lanying, Ms. Bai Shuqin, and Mr. Xue Furong Remain at Chengde City Detention Center
Ms. Wang Xiuyun, Ms. Li Lanying, Ms. Bai Shuqin, and Mr. Xue Furong were arrested on February 24, 2009. They remain in custody at the Chengde City Detention Center. It has been reported that the Shuangqiao District Procuratorate in Chengde City started officially prosecuting the four practitioners on October 21.
14. [Daxing'anling City, Heilongjiang Province] An Elderly Practitioner and Her Daughter Arrested
Around October 17, 2009, the police arrested an out-of-town practitioner in her sixties while she was spray painting truth clarification statements. The police searched the home of her daughter, Ms. Fan Chunmei, with whom she was living at the time. Ms. Fan, in her thirties, is a teacher at the Huzhong District No. 3 Elementary School. The officers found Falun Dafa books in her home, and arrested her as well. Both Ms. Fan and her mother are being held at the Huzhong District Detention Center.

15. [Jilin Province] Details on Arrests of Ms. Xuan Zhaoru and Ms. Ren Chunying in Changchun City
On the afternoon of July 17, 2009, Ms. Xuan Zhaoru and Ms. Ren Chunying were turned in to the police while they were telling people about the persecution. Officers from the Hepingda Road Police Station arrested the two practitioners. Several officers grabbed Ms. Ren's hands and forcefully took her bag. The fingers on her right hand were injured. The officers took her keys and two bank cards that were in the bag, and then performed a body search. When she was taken to the Hepingda Road Police Station, the officers handcuffed her to a chair while they interrogated her. Six officers held Ms. Xuan while they pressed her fingerprints onto the detention warrant.
Shortly after 10:00 p.m. that night, the two practitioners were taken to the Weizigou Women's Detention Center in Changchun City for a 15-day detention. Ms. Ren went on a hunger strike demanding her unconditional release. During the hunger strike, on July 24 and July 31, the police took her to the China-Japan Joint Friendship Hospital for force-feeding. Her hands were cuffed during the force-feeding. On July 31, the handcuffs were placed so tightly on her wrists that her hands cramped. She had difficulty breathing while being force-fed.
16. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Men Zhaomei Arrested
On the afternoon of October 17, 2009, a group of people from the Chengguan Police Station in Changle County, led by Chang Quanbin, head of the Domestic Security Division, broke into Ms. Meng Zhaomei's home. The officers tried to coerce Ms. Meng and her family to sign a statement promising not to study or practice Falun Gong. Ms. Meng refused to cooperate. The police took Ms. Men, her husband and their daughter to the Chengguan Police Station. They also searched her home. Officers confiscated Falun Dafa materials, a computer, a television set, and a tape recorder. At the police station, the practitioners' hands, feet and torsos were tied to chairs so that they could be tortured. The torture lasted six days and then the three practitioners were transferred to the Changle Detention Center.
Recently, several practitioners in Changle County have been sentenced to lengthy prison terms. Mr. Zhao Yancheng, 70 years old, from Qiaoguan Town, was sentenced to 12 years in prison. Mr. Liu Yongchun, 60, from Qiaoguan Town, was sentenced to eight years in prison. Mr. Chu Dao'an, 30, from Yingqiu Town, was sentenced to eight years in prison. Mr. Gao Guangcheng, from the Qiujiahe area, was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Mr. Wagn Deqin and Mr. Wang Rixin were sentenced to nine years in prison. Mr. Yu Xinshan, from Yujia Village, was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Ms. Li Guihua and Ms. Liu Yuhua were sentenced to eight years in prison. Mr. Wang Jinpeng was sentenced to seven years in prison.

17. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Du Chunxiang Arrested
At noon on October 26, 2009, Ms. Du Chunxiang from the Babaishang area was returning home when she was arrested by officers who had been waiting in the hallway of her building. Ms. Du's whereabouts are unknown.
18. [Renhuai City, Guizhou Province] Mr. Shi Delong and Mr. Wang Guocai Sentenced to Prison
Around August 20, 2009, Mr. Wang Guocai and Mr. Shi Delong were unlawfully sentenced to prison by the Renhuai Court. Mr. Wang was to serve a five-year term. Mr. Shi was to serve a three-year term.

19. [Ren County, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Xiuping Arrested
At noon on October 26, 2009, Liu Zhenguo, head of the Ren County Domestic Security Division, and a dozen police officers broke into Ms. Ren Xiuping's home in the Nanzhanggu area in Ren County. They forcibly took Ms. Ren, around 48 years old, to a brainwashing center in Xingtai City, Hebei Province.
20. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Ms. An Shuige Arrested
Ms. An Shuige, in her sixties, is a retired employee of the Jianye Company affiliated with the Hengshui Construction Industry Department. On the morning of October 8, 2009, after receiving reports, she was arrested by officers from the Damasen Township Police Station in Yaocheng District, Hengshui City. That afternoon, Ms. An was transferred to the city detention center. On the morning of October 10, three officers from the Yaocheng District Police Department broke in to search her home and proceeded to take her personal belongings.

21. [Mianyang City, Sichuan Province] Follow-Up Report on Ms. Li Shuqin
Ms. Li Shuqin was arrested by the local police and held at the Mianyang City Detention Center. She went on a hunger strike and was taken to the Mianyang City People's Hospital for an infusion. After staying on the hunger strike for 21 days, she was released on parole.
22. [Liaoning Province] Ms. Tang Lina Held at Dalian City Administrative Detention Center
At around 2:00 p.m. on October 27, 2009, Ms. Tang Lina, 51, was turned in to the authorities for telling students about Falun Gong at the Dalian Maritime University. Officials from the university's Security Division took her into custody and she was subsequently transferred to the Lingshui Police Station in Ganjingzi District, Dalian City. Officers from the police station searched Ms. Tang's mother's home, where Ms. Tang lives. Ms. Tang was taken to the Dalian City Administrative Detention Center.

24. [Duchang County, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Wang Huosun and Ms. Yi Qunping Arrested
On October 22, 2009, officers from the Zhouxi Town Police Station in Duchang County arrested Mr. Wang Huosun and searched his home. Mr. Wang managed to escape. During the past few days, as officers from the police station continued to look for Mr. Wang, they harassed his family. On the evening of October 26, the police used the excuse of examining residential ID cards to knock on Mr. Wang's door, but he was not at home. However, his family was harassed again.
It has been reported that Ms. Yi Qunping was arrested by officers from the Zhouxi Police Station.
