(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 10 provinces. In this report, 5 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 18 practitioners were Illegally arrested.
1. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhang Shiping and Ms. Xia Xianfang, a Married Couple Arrested
At 4 p.m., on August 5, 2009, when practitioner Ms. Xia Xianfang from the No.8 Oil Extraction Field in Datong District of Daqing City was Clarifying the Truth at a residential area, she was reported. Then police officer Zhang Xiaotang from the No. 2 Zhongxin Police Station in Datong District illegally arrested her. He confiscated her house key, then broke into her home. He confiscated her personal computer, a printer, truth-clarification materials and more. He also arrested her husband, Mr. Zhang Shiping. In the evening, they detained Ms. Xia and Mr. Zhang at the Gaoping Police Station, and later transferred them to the Military Police Team in the Datong District's Police Sub-Bureau, where Mr. Zhang was handcuffed to a chair. In the evening of August 6, Ms. Xia was transferred to the Daqing City's No.1 Detention Center. Mr. Zhang was detained at the Datong District's Detention Center.

2. [Anyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Li Hehua Sent to a Forced Labor Camp
On June 28, 2009, Ms. Li Hehua was arrested, and on August 4, she was taken to Shibalihe Women's Forced Labor Camp in Zhengzhou City for a two-year detention.
3. [Nong'an County, Jilin Province] Mr. Duan Lijie Arrested and Detained at Heizuizi Prison
On April 11, 2009, a group of people led by police officer Wu Jiachen from the Helong Township's Police Station in Nong'an County, who teamed up with people from the Nong'an County's "The "610 office"" broke into Mr. Duan Lijie's home, where they forcefully took him away. On April 25, Mr. Duan was illegally sentenced to one year imprisonment and taken to the No. 4 team in Heizuizi Prison.
4. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhao Dong Sent to a Forced Labor Camp
Mr. Zhao Dong is 38 years old and was employed at the Chengde City's Steel Limited Co. Before the 2008 Beijing Olympics, he was arrested at home by police officers, which were led by Liu Lining, who is the Vice-President of the Gangcheng Police Sub-Bureau and Li Fengli, who is the person in charge of the "610 Office". During the period when he was detained, he managed to escape, and has been homeless since then to avoid arrest. On May 8, 2009, his first day back at work, Liu Lining and Li Fenglin arrested him, and then illegally detained him at the Chengde City's Shuangfeng Detention Center. About 15 days later, he was illegally sentenced and detained in a forced labor camp. Currently, he is detained at the Chengde City's Detention Center and is subject to maltreatment.

5. [Chongzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Hu Xia Arrested
At 9 p.m. on August 6, 2009, police officers from the Yangma Township Police Station arrested Ms. Hu Xia, who is in her 50s.
6. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Tang Zhijie Sent to a Forced Labor Camp
On June 16, 2008, Ms. Tang Zhijie from Shunping County in Baoding City was arrested by people from the Jiangcheng Township Police Station in Xinshi District of Baoding City. Then she was illegally sentenced to 18 months in a forced labor camp. Currently, she is being detained at the Hebei Province Women's Forced Labor Camp in Shijiazhuang City.
7. [Gaoan City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Peng Meirong and Others Arrested
In the evening of July 19, 2009, when Ms. Peng Meirong, Ms. Gao Aizhen and Ms. Wang Siying from Gaoan City in Jiangxi Province were handing out truth-clarification materials in Tiannan County, they were reported and then arrested by police officers from the Tiannan Police Station. On the morning of July 20, their Dafa books and truth-clarification materials were confiscated at home.
Currently, three practitioners are detained at the Gaoan Detention Center. In the evening of August 5, police officers forcefully put handcuffs and foot shackles on them in order to torture them.
8. [Ezhou City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Xiuying Arrested and Taken to a Brainwashing Center
On October 31, 2007, when Ms. Liu Xiuying, Ms. Liu Zhengyin, Ms. Gao Zhuyun and other practitioners from Ezhou City in Hubei Province went to Liangzidao to hand out truth-clarification materials, they were reported by local people who have been deceived by the regime's propaganda against Falun Gong. They were arrested by people from the local police station afterwards. Both Ms. Liu and Ms. Gao were unlawfully sentenced to one year and nine months of forced labor and taken to the Hubei Women's Forced Labor Camp where they were maltreated.
Ms. Liu Xiuying's term was completed on August 6, 2009, however, police officers and people from the "610 Office" took her to the Hubei Province "Law-Enforcement Education Center" (brainwashing center). The situations of Ms. Liu and Ms. Gao are unknown.
9. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Huang Feng Detained at a Brainwashing Center
On July 19, 2009, Mr. Huang Feng, who is from Guangzhou City and is 39 years old, was arrested by security officers and taken to the Yuexiu District's Detention Center, where he was detained for 15 days. On August 3, he was taken by Lai Jianping, who is an office manager, to the "Guangdong Province "Law- Enforcement Education Center" in Foshan City of Guangdong Province.
10. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Deng Fengming Arrested by Police Officers from Datuopu Police Station
On August 1, 2009, when Ms. Deng Fengming, who is from Nantuo of Changsha City and in her 60s, was handing out truth-clarification materials, she was arrested by police officers from the Datuopu Police Station. Currently, she is detained at the Changsha City's "Law-Enforcement Education Center" and subjected to maltreatment.
11. [Chibi City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zheng Yuling Arrested
On August 6, 2009, when Ms. Zheng Yuling, who was employed at the Chibi City's Commerce Bureau in Hubei Province and is in her 50s, was putting up truth-clarification materials on the walls of the dormitory of the Chibi City's Police Bureau, she was arrested by police officers.
