Mr. Ge Kun from Weifang City Suffered Mistreatment During More Than a Year in Detention

(Clearwisdom.net) Hanting District Court began Mr. Ge Kun's trial on July 31, 2009. Mr. Ge, a practitioner from Weifang City, Shandong Province, has been detained for more than a year. He was mistreated during his detention.

Mr. Ge was first detained at the Weifang Detention Center, then at the Changle Detention Center in Weifang City. Guards at the Weifang center subjected Mr. Ge to mistreatment, such as restraining him to cross for six days, making him sit on a metal chair for four days straight, and interrogating him without interruption and without sleep for five days. The center administration denied his family's requests to visit. The Changle Detention Center administration did not allow his family to deliver winter clothes for him. On a winter day with temperatures as low as three degrees Fahrenheit, officers from the Kuiwen District Domestic Security Division forced Mr. Ge, to stand outdoors without a coat, then poured water on him, and watched as the water turned to ice and coated him.

Mr. Ge lived with his parents in a dormitory at the Kuiwen District of Weifang City. On the morning of July 9, 2008, the police arrested him at his home and seized his bank cards, cell phone, camera, his father's computer, printer, his mother's jewelry, and other belongings.
