(Clearwisdom.net) (By a correspondent from Hunan) Husband and wife Mr. Guo Huisheng and Ms. Li Jumei are from Jiahe County, Binzhou City, Hunan Province. They were illegally arrested because they told people the truth about Falun Gong and the persecution, and mailed truth-clarification materials to Lanshan Police Station. The police ransacked their home and confiscated their personal belongings. Practitioner Ms. Liao Hongcui was also taken into custody at that time.

On July 6, 2009, Jiaohe County practitioner Xiao Silan was arrested in Taipingxu, Lanshan County, Yongzhou City, and taken to Lanshan Detention Center by the local police. Local practitioners called Lanshan Police Station to try to explain the truth about Falun Gong and ask for the release of Xiao Silan. Mr. Guo Huisheng and Ms. Li Jumei helped mail out informational materials to the police station.

At around 9:00 p.m. on August 6, 2009, a group of policemen in Bingxue Park in Jiahe County arrested Ms. Li Jumei and Ms. Liao Hongcui and took them to Chengguan Police Station.

At around 1:00 a.m., National Security Brigade instructor Hu Yonghui and several police officers broke into Ms. Li's home and ransacked it. They stole several expensive personal items, then arrested her husband, Mr. Guo Huisheng, and took him to Chengguan Police Station.

On August 8, Ms. Liao was placed in solitary confinement. She was released ten days later. Mr. Guo and Ms. Li were transferred to a detention center. The couple has been on a hunger strike since the day they were arrested. On the evening of August 13, Ms. Li's life was in imminent danger. She was sent to People's Hospital for emergency treatment. When she was conscious the next morning, she was taken back to the detention center.
