Persecution Suffered: Brainwashing (Clearwisdom.net) (By a correspondent from Hubei Province) Around December 13, 2009, Mr. Zheng Qiaoqi disappeared while on his way through Beijing to the United States to visit his family. No one knew his whereabouts for two weeks. Later, it was confirmed that while he was passing through customs at the Beijing Airport, the police ordered him to write a statement disassociating with Falun Gong, and he refused. The airport authorities detained him and secretly transferred him back to Wuhan City. He has since been detained in the Shenjiaji Brainwashing Center in the Jiang'an District.

In the past ten years of brutal persecution, Mr. Zheng has been detained in the brainwashing center multiple times. The longest detention period was in 2005, when he was in the Shenjiaji Brainwashing Center for over one year.
