(Clearwisdom.net) I obtained the Fa in 1995. During the past 15 years of cultivation, I sometimes forged ahead diligently, and sometimes became sluggish. In 11 years of persecution, either when I went to Beijing to validate the Fa or when I was detained in prison, I persevered under the protection of Teacher. With Teacher's protection, I first distributed informational materials along major streets and small lanes and by sending mail, then clarified the truth to people face to face. The more I did, the wider and brighter my way became. Below, I will report to Teacher and fellow practitioners the experience of my clarifying the truth to lawyers.
1. Getting Rid of Fear
In our city, there are eight law firms where the lawyers have licenses. There are four legal service offices, where the staff do not have lawyers' licenses. They are retired from the public security organizations, procuratorial organizations or court. Some of them worked in the 610 Office. They claim to be knowledgeable in law, and set up their offices through all kinds of relationships. They are only interested in money, and are ignorant of justice. So they are the blank slates for truth clarification. That was also my fear. The people in mainland China were dominated for many years by the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) obscurantist policy, and developed the servility of absolute obedience. That was my notion. These fears and notions were broken through during the process of saving a fellow practitioner.
At the beginning of October 2009, I learned that a fellow practitioner had been arrested. I knew nothing about when and where he was arrested, who arrested him, or where he was detained. More than two months later, I learned that he was sentenced to imprisonment. His family did not receive any notification. We went to the local police department and court to inquire, but did not get any response. We had no alternative but to help his family file a lawsuit. But where could we find a lawyer? This put us on the spot. Then I realized that this fellow practitioner is our kin, so how could we give up when facing difficulty? Teacher said, "The next person's things are your things, and your things are his things. "(Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. Fa Conference) Teacher's Fa teaching strengthened my decision. But I still had fears and concepts. What could I do? The only way was through Fa study. Teacher said, "The Fa can break all attachments, the Fa can destroy all evil, the Fa can shatter all lies, and the Fa can strengthen righteous thoughts." So I increased my Fa study and sending forth righteous thought. I recited Teacher's article "In Fa-Rectification Your Thoughts Have to be Righteous, Not Human" and "Let Go of Human Attachments and Save the World's People." I realized that lawyers also should be saved, and we must show mercy to them. From another perspective, rescuing fellow practitioners, working to end the persecution and validating the Fa are the responsibilities of Dafa disciples. After I became clear on the Fa principles, my righteous thoughts were more abundant. I asked fellow practitioner Ms. Zhang in the same Fa study group to go with me. So we went to the law firms while sending forth righteous thoughts all the way. On the second day, more practitioners joined us. Six of us visited all twelve law firms in our city.
2. When Facing Difficulty, Persistence Is Very Important
The lawyers' attitudes were different when we clarified the truth to them. Some tried to drive us out upon hearing "Falun Gong." Just as Teacher said, "some Chinese won't listen one bit to what they have to say. Those people truly believe that what the Party says is surely correct, that what the Communist government says is surely correct, and they believe that Falun Gong really is as the CCP portrays it."(We Are Not "Getting Political")
When some lawyers learned that we were going to file a lawsuit, they just responded directly, "The higher authorities issued notification that prohibits us from taking your case." We said, "Would you please show us the notification?" They said frankly that this kind of notification is impossible to be written. Following this topic, we talked about the CCP's fraud, slander, and framing. From the staged Tiananmen Square Self-Immolation Incident, we explained the persecution of Falun Gong. But they thought that is what the rulers' sanction means, and it is the same with each regime. They did not want to bring any trouble to themselves, and asked us to leave.
Even so, we felt gratified since they learned the truth anyway. That should be a foreshadow for the future.
Some were simply apathetic and ignored us. They just said, "We are busy. You'd better leave." But we still repeated one sentence, "We hope you can remember that Falun Gong is good, and that you get a further understanding of Falun Gong."
Some were willing to listen to us. But their colleagues tried to stand in the way.
Regardless of the arbitrary attitude or sarcastic comments, we firmly believe in Teacher and Dafa. Whatever Teacher told us to do, we would carry the task down to the grass-roots level. So we were not upset, restless, impatient, discouraged, or dejected. No matter how cold it was or how heavy the snow was, we always remembered what Teacher said and kept on appealing for our fellow practitioner's case and clarifying the truth with compassion. When facing difficulty, we shared views with each other and looked inwards to search for our loopholes. Finally, three law firms reached the understanding that Falun Gong had been defamed. They said,"We are astonished at what you said. We knew about the chaos of embezzlement and corruption, but did not realize that it was so bad. You are worthy of sympathy. We can feel the isolation and helplessness you have."
Their awakening, recognition, and sympathy laid a solid foundation for them to defend the practitioners. In order to protect these law firms, I will call the three firms A, B, and C for the convenience of my narration.
3. Bringing Sincerity and Compassion to People During the Process of Truth Clarification
During the process of truth clarification, we were always courteous and had a mild and kindhearted mind. For example, when we distributed the information to them, we stood up and handed them with both hands, and told them the materials included more detailed information than what we talked about. Before distribution to all staff in a law firm, we asked the permission of the director, and told him that we really respected his opinion. Since we showed respect to them, they also treated us kindly, and offered seats to us each time we stopped by.
In the B law firm, we talked about the arrested practitioner, who owed many debts due to illness before he began cultivation in Falun Gong. Burdened with the debts, his children could not treat each other kindly. After he cultivated in Falun Gong, his diseases disappeared, and he began working again. His family was restored to harmony. So he told others that he benefited from Falun Gong. Is that a crime? We talked about everything from Jiang Zemin's jealousy to the movie False Fire,[an exposé of how the Chinese regime staged the self-immolation incident on Tiananmen Square] and from the harvesting of live Falun Gong practitioners' organs to the death cases in our city due to the persecution. We also talked about the 20 local practitioners that were still detained. We mentioned that Falun Gong is currently practiced in more than one hundred countries, and Master Li had won more than 1,000 awards. They sometimes stopped us and raised some questions. Finally they gradually understood the truth. Then we discussed the case of the arrested practitioner. I said, "Is that legal not to notify his family of his detention and sentence? Is that not violating the law while supposedly enforcing the law?" Then the director responded voluntarily, "Let me check with an acquaintance." After he put down the phone, he told me that he was sentenced to four years of imprisonment. My tears could not help but well up. All of the staff in the firm were disturbed. They gathered around me and were moved at the revelation of my true feelings. Other fellow practitioners and I distributed truth-clarification materials, CDs, and the introduction to the Shen Yun Performance to them. They accepted the materials respectfully.
Then I persuaded them to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. Two of them said they had already quit. Some said they would need to think about it. The director said he could not quit due to his job. I told them to remember that Falun Gong is good. When we were leaving, someone asked us to bring them more materials later.
I went to the A law firm several times. A lawyer asked me to sell water dispensers for him. He said that through our contact he felt that Falun Gong practitioners are quite reliable. After I learned about the producing area, quality, and price from him, I told him frankly that among my acquaintances, a water dispenser of 4,000 yuan was too high of a price for them to pay. I also said I could introduce the dispenser to my friends, but I would act as an intermediary. He was not upset with my honesty, and said with deep respect, "Falun Gong practitioners are amazing. You speak honestly, and never beat around the bush or jerk me around."
Another staff person said, "If everyone behaved like you, things would be easier." I responded with a smile, "You are welcome to be one of us." He said, "It is too hard." I answered. "My Teacher taught us that when it's impossible to do, you can do it." He gave me the thumbs up.
4. Urging People to Quit the CCP
After I became familiar with the three law firms, I went there often since I was concerned about the people who had not quit the CCP. So I took them the book the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, some materials downloaded from the Minghui website (Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net) and a CD. I also sent forth righteous thoughts for them. In short, I tried my best to help change their future.
As a result, the employees in the law firms quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations one after another. The deputy director of B law firm quit with his real name. Finally the director also quit. He also said that he could give us any help behind the scenes, but could not defend us in the court.
One lawyer in the C law firm is my old friend. She learned the truth about Falun Gong quite early. She knew much about Falun Gong and showed much sympathy. She said that she recited "Falun Dafa is good," and had received good fortune.
5. Those Who Learned the Truth Support Dafa
The three law firms did many things for local practitioners after they learned the truth. The B firm pledged to provide help ys when we were unsure of certain legal issues. The A firm passed messages to detained practitioners many times. The lawyers in the A firm also defended practitioners at the second trial in the Intermediate Court. The lawyer of the C firm defended Falun Gong publicly in court. He promoted justice, and spoke righteously and sternly.
We know that everything was done by Teacher. We are just an element under cosmic changes. We are grateful for Teacher's care at all times.
