(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Wu Hongjun from Ranghulu District, Daqing, Heilongjiang was arrested on the afternoon of March 28, 2010, and the Ranghulu District Court sentenced him to three years in prison on June 8, 2010. His appeal was ignored by the authorities and he is still being detained.

Mr. Wu was riding a motorcycle on the afternoon of March 28, 2010, when police stopped him at Sixin Town of Ranghulu District, using the excuse of checking his license plate. The police searched his bag and confiscated Falun Gong materials, including over 100 yuan in bills that had Falun Gong content written on them, truth clarification video discs and pamphlets, and other personal belongings. They arrested him and took him to the Third Detention Center of Duli Township in Ranghulu District.

Mr. Wu was put on trial on June 8, 2010, at the Ranghulu District Court and sentenced to three years in prison. He appealed this sentence, but the authorities ignored his appeal.

In July 1999, after the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, Mr. Wu was demoted from his engineering post to that of a technician in the train examination workshop, because he persisted in his belief in and practice of Falun Gong.

Mr. Wu went to Beijing in 2000 to speak out against the persecution policy and was taken back by police officers from the Qiqihar Railroad Police Department. He was then detained for a month at the Third Prison of that police department.

When Mr. Wu was at work on December 28, 2000, personnel from the Railroad's 610 Office deceived him and took him to the brainwashing center, which is located at the CCP's Railroad Guesthouse in Jiagedaqi City. He was detained for two months, and his family was not allowed to visit him.

Mr. Wu was arrested at work in 2001 and sentenced to three years of forced labor at the Forced Labor Camp of Qiqihar City in Fuyu County. On October 21, 2001, he asked for the right to practice the Falun Gong exercises and was thus beaten by camp guards. He held a hunger strike to protest the hanging torture used on practitioners who were detained in the labor camp. Thus, camp authorities extorted 46 yuan from him.

In March 2003, Mr. Wu was transferred to the Suihua Forced Labor Camp, where he was subjected to electric shocking conducted by camp guards Zeng Lingjun and Fan Xiaodong, who used four electric batons. During his over one-month detention in the First Team, he was savagely beaten until he was disfigured and unable to eat normally. He was sometimes beaten until he was covered with bruises, deprived of sleep, and forced to watch videos that defamed Falun Gong and its founder. He was also forced to stand facing a wall for long periods of time, his face and hands were burned with cigarettes, he was beaten by inmates, and he was forced to live in the same cell as a tuberculosis patient.

In 2005, in an attempt to force him to give up his practice of Falun Gong, the railroad station authorities and Qiqihar Railroad police conspired and sentenced Mr. Wu to one year of forced labor in the Suihua Forced Labor Camp.
