TV Show Producer: "Hopefully, this kind of culture can be further promoted"

Veteran TV show actress and producer, Ms. Guo Meichu, and her husband, Mr. Chen Chongling, who was previously a senior program director of the Taiwan Television Enterprise, Ltd. attended Shen Yun Performing Arts New York Company's ninth show in Taipei on the evening of March 24, 2010. After seeing the show, she said, "I really appreciated Shen Yun's innovative and unique artistic performance style. The presentation of the essence of the 5,000-year Chinese civilization, history and culture can help people understand the Chinese traditional culture. Hopefully, this kind of culture can be further promoted."

Seeing the program depicting higher beings' safeguarding Falun Gong practitioners who were steadfast in their belief, she said with sympathy, "The show also conveyed the message about belief. If you believe in Buddhas and Gods, they will safeguard you. Seeing the show, my heart seemed to have assimilated to Buddha."

Deeply moved by Shen Yun's dedication to promoting the traditional Chinese culture, Mr. Chen continued, "If you say Shen Yun represents the traditional Chinese culture, I would not reject it ... . As Shen Yun is from the United States, I think it is very good to let Chinese culture become rooted overseas and recognized by the overseas Chinese society through its (Shen Yun's) performance."

Ms. Guo concluded by saying, "Some of my relatives are conducting folk dance classes, and I'll invite them to see the show next time. On the other hand, I'll attend the show next year along with some more friends so as to let them appreciate Shen Yun's magnificence."

Former Deputy Minister of Education: Shen Yun Promotes Chinese Culture to Every Corner

Former Deputy Minister of Education and former Director of Taipei City Bureau of Education, Mr. Lin Chao-Hsien, attended the Shen Yun Performing Arts New York Company's eighth show in Taipei along with his wife on March 24, 2010. Amazed by the wonderful performance, Mr. Lin said, "It is really remarkable that Shen Yun has promoted the Chinese culture to every corner."

The retired deputy minister of education said that childrens' potentials would be inspired, if they were able to fully appreciate Shen Yun. He said, "Those who can come to see the show in person would feel very happy and it could help to build character."

As to the program depicting the scenario that Falun Gong practitioners were steadfast in their belief though they were under cruel persecution, Lin Chao-Hsien said, "Religious freedom is by all means a basic right to which all humans are entitled."

His wife, Ms. Cai Donghui, who is a retired professor of the Taipei University of Education, had the highest acclaim for Shen Yun New York Company Orchestra's perfect combination of classical Chinese instruments and Western instruments. When she discovered that all these artists are Chinese who have grown up overseas, she was really touched.

"Nowadays (Chinese) children have overly admired Western culture, and many have forgotten the traditional Chinese culture and other valuable things. Chinese culture should be preserved and promoted continuously. Seeing these overseas Chinese so vividly illustrate the Chinese culture through classical dances and legendary stories, I really respect them very much."

Media Magnate: 'This is a 100-score show!'

Wu Aming, the 87-year-old chairman of Taiwan's largest newspaper, The Liberty Times, attended the eighth performance of Shen Yun Performing Arts New York Company in Taipei on the afternoon of March 24. He gave the show abundant praise. "This is a 100-score show!" he said in Taiwanese.

"I've gained a lot from seeing Shen Yun today!" said Mr. Wu. "Shen Yun has quite the magic power. It makes people happy when seeing the show and comfortable when listening to the music. It makes people feel very cheerful!" He said that he hopes when Shen Yun comes to Taiwan again next year, The Liberty Times can have the opportunity to interview Shen Yun Performing Arts, so that its readers will know that Shen Yun is coming to Taiwan.

He paid special attention to the persecution of Falun Gong, a peaceful meditation practice, in China today. He said it's completely violated humanity and the justice of nature. The cheerful and amiable elderly man said in a serious tone, "If [the members of] the Chinese Communist Party are still human beings, they should immediately stop the repression of Falun Gong."

He stressed, "Falun Gong not only refines one's morality, but also the body, and furthermore, cultivates the heart. It is good for mankind. So it should not be suppressed, but be vigorously promoted."
