(Clearwisdom.net) I obtained the Fa in 1997 and am in my seventies. I would like to share my personal experiences over the past few years with practitioners.
1. Rescuing people whose minds were poisoned in a detention center
The 2005 National Mayors' Conference was held in Chongqing. A few practitioners and I were arrested because we hung up Falun Gong banners and posters. We were detained in the Nanshan Brainwashing Center in Chongqing. But during the entire period I never accepted the old forces' arrangements and constantly sent righteous thoughts.
As soon as we arrived at the brainwashing center, a gang of policemen crowding around a young woman approached me. A person who was assigned to watch me said that the young woman was well educated and was there to "reform" practitioners, and that even the police were scared of her. Not moved by that comment, I was determined that since I was there, I must clarify the truth to her.
Glancing at her, I seriously asked, "I was told you're in charge? As young as you are, with insufficient experience in society, how much do you know? Are you being responsible for yourself when you are doing such bad deeds?" Stunned, as if she had never heard anyone speaking to her like that, she replied, "Uncle, please speak slowly."
In the days that followed, we discussed different topics, from qigong to cultivation, from Chinese civilization to the Chinese Communist Party's decades of controlling the minds of Chinese people. For 18 days in the center, I told her the facts about Falun Gong and some other righteous principles accepted by ordinary people. In the end, as I was leaving the center, she whispered to me in tears that she was from Chengdu City, and both of her parents were intermediate-level army officers. The Communist Party assigned her this job, deceiving her with the promise that it would help her gain work experience after she graduated from college, but she had no idea what the job would entail. She also said that she would quit doing this kind of work and hoped I would forgive her and her past deeds.
2. Sending righteous thoughts in close proximity to the evil to eliminate it
The evil elements gather in places like labor camps and prisons, and that is why sending righteous thoughts in close proximity helps to eliminate it and strengthen the detained practitioners. With this goal, a few practitioners and I would go to the labor camps in our area to send righteous thoughts.
One time, a practitioner and I went to a men's labor camp. The place was barren, and there was no one around. Sitting across from the main entrance, we sent righteous thoughts. A guard approached us and asked what we were doing. The other practitioner said he was looking for so-and-so, but since I could not think of anyone, I said that I was also looking for someone, and would like to know how many Falun Gong practitioners were detained in the labor camp. Startled, the guard said that he could not check for that information since the camp officials were not in.
Soon after that, however, he asked me if I was also a practitioner. I replied positively. Quickly, he picked up the phone and called the local police station. I sent righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil elements behind the guard. Soon after, policemen arrived and took us to the local station. I was not at all afraid, but constantly sent righteous thoughts to stop the policemen from doing bad deeds, and also looked for a chance for the both of us to leave the station.
Enabled by our strong righteous thoughts, the other practitioner indeed left the police station. Holding truth-clarification materials, the policeman did not know what to do. He called his supervisor, and they talked for a while. He even handed the phone to me and asked me to talk to his supervisor. Using this opportunity, I said over the phone, "You're absolutely wrong in keeping me here and doing a body-search of me without a warrant. Can you not follow the law?" The deputy head of the police station on the other end of the phone apologized and explained that they would resolve the issue immediately. Before letting me go, the deputy head offered to drive me home. I said that I could go home on my own, but would like to get the materials back. He asked me to leave the materials with them so that they could read them. I told them happily that the materials would be my gift to them. I went home that day, safe and sound.
After I got home, practitioners told me that they all sent righteous thoughts for me, fearing that I would not be allowed to return. I replied that that thought was not righteous, and that with Master's protection no one could touch me.
I also went to a women's labor camp to talk to the officials there. A guard acting as the supervisor met with me. I said that I wanted to see a practitioner in the labor camp. The supervisor said that since that practitioner was not doing a "good" job there, I was not allowed to see her. I asked the supervisor if she knew that it was illegal to forbid me to see someone. I asked her what kind of future she would have if she continued persecuting others. After remaining silent for a long time, she said, "As a matter of fact, I know that the Communist Party is bad, but I don't have any options since this is my job. I too have my faith, and I believe in a religion." I told her, "If you treat Falun Gong practitioners well at work, you will be rewarded with good fortune." Silently, she nodded her head.
I deeply believe that if we trust Master and Dafa, we can send righteous thoughts when we are close to the evil elements and can thus eliminate them at the root. An ordinary person is very weak on the surface, and because of that, it is easy to save him.
3. Explaining the facts to the political head of the neighborhood association
Practitioners and I discussed what we should do to remove the writing on an anti-Falun Gong banner that recently appeared in our neighborhood. With help from fellow practitioners, I went to speak with the head of the street committee and asked him, "Was it you that put up the banner outside? Doesn't that banner disrupt the atmosphere of a 'harmonious society'? That banner misleads the public."
The committee head said, "You must be a Falun Gong practitioner! Believe it or not, I could have you arrested!" Laughing at him, I replied, "If that were the case, I had just planned to tell them the facts about Falun Gong." Empowered by our strong righteous thoughts, he said, "Then, please tell me what on earth is Falun Gong?" Then I told him the facts, and he asked me what I wanted him to do. I told him to take down the banner, because it not only harmed others but also those who put it up. He did not say anything, and I left. A few days later, I noticed that the banner was gone.
