Even after the persecution began in 1999, many people still remained clear about Falun Gong and saw through The Communist Party (CCP)'s lies. When the persecution first began, I went to buy something in a small shop. The owner said, "Are you the Falun Gong practitioner? I trust you, and I do not believe all that slander against Falun Gong." One of my colleagues said, "You are all good people. You should not be treated that way. The government must have been wrong." When officers from the government came to my workplace to investigate me, my colleagues told them that I was a good employee and very personable. They tried to protect me on many occasions, which allowed me to avoided being persecuted many times.
I started practicing Falun Gong in 1996. Through cultivation, my morality and character improved quite a lot. Before that, I was aggressive and always sought to prevail over others. I was a top student in school from the time I was a child and went to a famous university from my hometown in the countryside. After I graduated, I worked in a university. I used to be complacent and conceited because I was talented. After I picked up Falun Gong, I changed my personality and became a generous, warmhearted person according to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Since I try my best to consider others before myself and look inside myself whenever I am in a conflict with others, I maintain a good relationship with my colleagues and friends.
My family benefited quite a lot from the miraculous healing effects of Falun Gong. Before practicing I suffered from faucitis, nasal inflammation, and heart disease. My employer paid thousands of yuan for my treatment each year, but my condition deteriorated as I grew older. My heart disease could worsen at any time and was considered to be incurable. All these diseases disappeared after I started practicing Falun Gong in May 1996. I am now 45 years old, but people say I don't look 30.
My mother was deaf as a side effect from a disease she had when she was young. She was blind in one eye and could hardly see out of the other. She sought treatment in many hospitals, but to no avail, and had to take medication every day. After I began to practice Falun Gong in 1996, I taught her the practice. It took her one month to learn all the exercises, which are very simple to learn. To her surprise, after six months of practice, her deafness was gone and her eyesight became much better. She gave up the medicines as she recovered from all the diseases that hospitals failed to cure. She is now in her 70s, and she can take care of herself well in everyday life. She can do some household things like washing clothes and cooking. We could never have imagined this would happen.
My sister suffered from serious rheumatism since she was young. She had acute pain whenever the weather changed or it became cold. No medical treatment could cure her. She also learned Falun Gong after I did, and soon her disease was gone. Now she enjoys her life so much, free from the pain.
