(Clearwisdom.net) I think every practitioner has experienced the need to remove the attachment of fear. To be unafraid is not something you can force yourself to do. Being “fearless” that we talk about is fundamentally different from everyday people saying, “I am not afraid.”
During the initial period after the persecution began, my fear was very strong. Although I had established a truth-clarification material production site at home and actively supplied materials to other practitioners for distribution, I was afraid to hand them out myself. I was scared of being arrested, felt embarrassed to distribute materials in residential buildings, was scared of this and that, and whenever I heard about or saw local practitioners being illegally arrested for handing out materials, or whenever it was one of the sensitive dates set by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), I would stop doing Dafa work for a period of time because I was afraid.
At that time, I had huge pressure to go out and distribute materials. So many times, when I was walking down the street, I looked at the mailboxes of the residential buildings and really wanted to deliver the materials. However, I did not dare to go there. Also, there were many times when I walked around with materials for a long time, but only distributed a few or only posted a few truth-clarification stickers. Once, just as I got to the door of a building and was going to start putting materials into the mailboxes, a group of people suddenly came out of the building. I quickly turned around and walked away. Often when I got home, I felt dejected and hated myself for lacking courage. However, this fear was not easy to remove.
After learning about fellow practitioners’ experiences of distributing materials from the Minghui website, along with constant Fa study, I decided to start with an easy task. As long as I persisted, starting from little tasks to gradually doing more, I believed that I could abandon the fear and be in a solid cultivation state while saving people. I started by posting letters, then put up palm-sized truth-clarification messages and distributed small DVDs, and then distributed pamphlets and regular DVDs. I started out by taking one or two items at a time, and then progressed to taking along several dozens and finally hundreds of Shen Yun DVDs to distribute. Gradually, I abandoned my fear. I was also helped by unceasing Fa-study and by relentlessly going out to distribute truth-clarification materials, which represented saving sentient beings in the Fa-rectification period.
Today, I have a new understanding of “fearless.” A practitioner's “not being afraid” comes from immersion in the Fa and the righteous thoughts from Dafa cultivation, because it is the righteous thoughts that dare to face any evil without fear. When I am saving people that are in an evil environment, I won’t think about fear, and “fear” has no position in my heart when I concentrate on saving sentient beings. I send these thoughts from my heart: “I hope that you are all able to understand the truth, that you can be saved, and that every truth-clarifying DVD of mine can save people with a predestined relationship.” These are the righteous thoughts of a Fa-rectification practitioner, which no evil dares to touch. Under such righteous thoughts, the things I do are the purest. Therefore, I feel that my supernormal ability also projects enormous might.
The followings are a few of my experiences in assisting Master with saving sentient beings:
1. With Sentient Beings in My Heart, Supernormal Feet Help Me to Walk Hundreds of Miles
There is a small town in the far south of my province. I went there prior to July 20, 1999, and saw a Falun Gong practice site with over 10 people. Although there weren't that many people, I was really touched to see a practice site in such a small town. I did not have time to join them that day.
After the persecution began, I would think about sentient beings in that town once in a while and felt that I should go to save them. Due to various factors, it was 2009 before I was able to make the trip. I hid over 150 Shen Yun DVDs in a shoe box and departed with another practitioner. At the entrance to a screening area, my fellow practitioner asked for directions to block the view of the X-ray inspection staff. Since I only carried a small bag and a shoe box, I easily avoided being inspected.
We arrived at the town without incident and found a hotel. Since my last visit 10 years ago, the small town developed heavy traffic and was extremely busy. We left the hotel after 7 p.m., just as it became dark. First, we went to the area where I had seen the Falun Gong practice site years ago. The fellow practitioner with me felt very fearful, dared not distribute any DVDs and stood at the side of the road pretending to send text messages while sending forth righteous thoughts for me. I walked along the street, putting a Shen Yun DVD at the door of every household and on the bikes parked on the side of the road.
We walked on countless streets and roads, from this small town to a big town, until our socks had holes in them. By the time we returned to the hotel after giving out all the DVDs, it was after 2 a.m. We had walked continuously for over seven hours, with no break. Many times when we felt too tired to continue to move our feet, we recited, "The Fa rectifies the cosmos, the evil is completely eliminated," and the strength returned to our legs and feet. We returned home later in the morning.
For over a year, we made several long trips during two-day holidays to save people. We went to a medium-sized city in the north of our province, a far-away fishing village in the south, and a primarily agricultural town. I sent forth righteous thoughts toward the destinations while we were on the way there and to eliminate all evil while distributing the materials. When I put down a DVD or flyer, I sent out one thought: “I hope you cherish the DVD, cherish the truth, and I hope you are all saved!”
2. Face All Situations Rationally and Wisely When Saving People
One night I went to a university to distribute Shen Yun DVDs. After I had distributed them in several teaching staff apartment buildings, I bumped into a person returning home, who looked at me strangely. My intuition told me that I should leave the yard.
After I walked through the campus gate, I continued to put DVDs in the mailboxes in two more residential buildings. It suddenly started to rain and I didn't have an umbrella, so I ran to take shelter, as the rain became heavier and heavier. I noticed an institution housing unit just opposite of where I was waiting. It was not big, with two buildings that were not tall and about several dozen households. The people living there were all from one company. Although the gate was guarded, the heavy rain provided a really good opportunity to get inside.
I immediately went in and put the remaining eight Shen Yun DVDs into different mailboxes in the two buildings. After that, I stood at the entrance of a building, waiting for the rain to stop. Only then did I notice that my entire body was soaked, as if I had been pulled out from the ocean.
After the rainstorm, there was no rain during the journey home, the ground was dry, and it seemed that only that last place where I had left the DVDs had been rained on. It seemed like the gods helped me to get into that yard and save the people there.
Teacher has guided us to take the Fa as teacher and also said,
“The closer to the end, the more diligent you should be.” (“The Closer to the End, the More Diligent You Should Be,” October 8, 2005)
I will bear in mind Teacher’s guidance and be even more diligent in doing the three things well.
