(Clearwisdom.net) Tangshan practitioners Ms. Jia Shuxiang, Ms. Zhang Yalin, Ms. Liu Xiuyun, Ms. Zhen Deyun, and Ms. Li Xiufeng were arrested at Yuhuzhai Village, Qianxi County, by the Qianxi Domestic Security Division on the afternoon of December 10, 2010. They were taken to Qianxi Detention Center and Qianxi Lockup. Jia Shuxiang and Liu Xiuyun went on hunger strike to protest their illegal detention. Jia Shuxiang was forced to wear heavy torture instruments that immobilized her upper body and foot shackles. She was viciously force-fed by Tian Guilu, Fu Jianjun and others. Jia Shuxiang is now very skinny, and is in critical condition.
Chen Hongli, who had been detained at Qianxi Detention Center for more than eight months, was sentenced to four years in prison and was taken to Hebei Women's Prison on January 17, 2011. The detained practitioners at Qianxi Detention Center vehemently requested to meet the detention center director Tian Guilu and demanded their unconditional release. Tian Guilu denied their request. Jia Shuxiang and Liu Xiuyun started a hunger strike to protest their illegal detention.
On the morning of December 24, director Tian Guilu, political director Fu Jianjun, and prison doctor Zhen Yuan force-fed Jia Shuxiang, who had been on a hunger strike for eight days and was very weak. Jia Shuxiang was forced to wear the same torture instruments and foot shackles. The prison police said they would unlock the shackles only when she agreed to eat and improved her attitude. Fu Jianjun once again dragged the very weak Jia Shuxiang out and barbarically force-fed her on the afternoon on December 25. Fu Jianjun said that if Jia did not willingly eat, she would be force-fed every day, and she would have to pay 25 yuan each time.
After the torturous force-feeding, Jia Shuxiang had little strength left. She threw up blood and had trouble breathing. Her stomach was also in a great deal of pain. At present, Jia Shuxiang has become very skinny and is in critical condition. Liu Xiuyun suffered two heart attacks as a result of the persecution. Zhen Deiyun threw up every day and is also very weak.
This is the second time that Jia Shuxiang has suffered brutal persecution at Qianxi Detention Center. At the end of 1999 and beginning of 2000, Ms. Jia was also detained at Qianxi Detention Center. One day, it was extremely cold. The prison police intentionally opened the window and handcuffed Ms. Jia and a few other practitioners high up on the window. The practitioners were cuffed to the front of the window, with their toes barely touching the ground. Some could not even touch the ground. After a long time, Ms. Jia's face turned pale and she fainted.
Qianxi Detention Center was located behind the Qianxi Police Station at that time. It was one of the most notorious detention centers in Tangshan. The short and small cells had not been repaired for years. Blocks of ceiling fell down sometimes. The prison cells were very cold and damp in the winter. Once, Jia Shuxiang and a few other practitioners sat together and just crossed their legs to begin doing the Falun Gong meditation. When they were found by prison police, they were immediately handcuffed and stayed cuffed for several days. With their hands behind their backs, they could not take in food or use the restroom. They could not lie down when they slept. It was even difficult to rest against a wall. After an extended period of being handcuffed, their arms and hands became badly swollen, to the point of being painful to the touch. Someone in the cell wanted to help them to put on clothes, but even the weight of the clothes caused terrible pain.
