(Clearwisdom.net) Deng Xiaomin was a teacher and had been working in Baihuazhou School, Jiangling Elementary, Nanchangtie No. 2 Elementary, Nanchang Yuxin School, and Xiaoxingxing English Education Center.

When the persecution of Falun Gong began on July 20, 1999, Ms. Deng went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. She was brutally beaten at Tiananmen Square, arrested, and escorted to Nanchang Detention Center. She was held there for over a month, handcuffed and shackled. They attempted to brainwash her, at which time she began a hunger strike, then was later released.

On February 13, 2000, she returned to Beijing for a second time. She was again arrested and escorted back to Nanchang City. The court ignored legal procedures and she was sentenced to three years in a labor camp, the Jiangxi Province Women's Forced Labor Camp.

While in the labor camp, Ms. Deng began a hunger strike. Guard Wang Junsheng and another guard named Lu knocked her down and shocked her with an electric baton, causing her to pass out. After 40 days on a hunger strike, she was force-fed through a tube pushed through her nose. Her nose bled, her face was swollen and bruised, and the tube was not taken out. Her injured nose continued to bleed frequently during her three years in the labor camp.

Ms. Deng would not give in and continued to practice Falun Dafa even in such a horrific environment. Once the guard handcuffed her to the bed rail, forcing her to stand all night, for two months.

The labor camp began to intensify the “transformation” of Ms. Deng at the end of 2000. She refused to give in and was severely persecuted. She was forced to stay in a squatting position in a small dark cell for a long time and was shocked with an electric baton. For over two years, her room had no lights or windows. Her health was failing, and she looked pale. After a lot of high pressure brainwashing, she was mentally unstable. She could no longer take care of herself and did not know to go get food; the other inmates would not help her, and she was often hungry. She also lost the ability to clean herself. Once again, the other inmates would not help her. She was often beaten by the three inmates who closely monitored her and was frequently covered with bruises. Her family insisted they be allowed to take her home, but the labor camp officials would not let them because she refused to be “transformed.”

The severity of her symptoms and the persistence of her illness make us wonder what really happened to her at the hands of the guards in the labor camp.

After she was released from the labor camp in March of 2003, she never recovered. She would wear a hat and sunglasses all year long. Afraid to see anyone or any light, she often displayed irrational behavior. One day she wandered away to Hunan Province. Her family was deathly afraid for her. Fortunately, a kindhearted person helped her and notified the family. Her father had to go bring her home. Her parents have been exhausted worrying about her since her release. Her father is already in his mid 70s.

In January 2011, filled with despair, her parents felt they had no choice but to take her to a mental hospital. It has been eight years since she became mentally unstable and incoherent.
