(Minghui.org) Mr. Li Dequan and Mr. Li Dexiang's relatives, who went to the Jilin City Police Department Changyi Division on January 29, 2014, to demand their loved ones be released from the Jilin Detention Center, were assaulted.
Two police officers came out to deal with the family members. One in plainclothes shouted, “Who are you? What are your names? Give me your ID numbers!”
Mr. Li Dequan's niece told them that there was nothing wrong with practicing Falun Gong and that her uncle should be released. The officer in plainclothes threatened to arrest all of them if they mentioned Falun Gong again.
He then grabbed Mr. Li's niece by her collar and dragged her outside the building. She almost suffocated and twice had difficulty breathing.
When other family members tried to stop him, three more officers came out and beat them. One of the officers recorded the event with a cellphone. The plainclothes officer said that he had called more police to come to arrest everyone else.
Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Li Dequan and Mr. Li Dexiang, brothers from Jilin City, Jilin Province, were arrested at home on the afternoon of October 17, 2013, and taken to Jilin City Detention Center.
The two men had been detained for over three months. Their relatives have asked for their release many times, but without any success. Now the officer who used to be in charge of the case, Jin Yingjie, claims that he is sick and no longer in charge. The family could not get any information on who is now responsible for the case.
