(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 9 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 28 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Xingcheng City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Shujun Sentenced to a Five-Year Prison Term
Mr. Li Shujun was arrested on the evening of August 24, 2013, and later taken to the Xingcheng City Detention Center. He was sentenced to a five-year prison term on July 30, 2014.
2. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Three Practitioners Detained
Ms. Yu Lamei, Ms. Li Taozhi, and Ms. Hu Yanfang were arrested and taken to the Dongxihu No. 1 Detention Center on July 6, 2014, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. After being held for 15 days, they were transferred to the Wuhan City No. 1 Detention Center.
3. [Linshui County, Sichuan Province] Fourteen Practitioners Arrested
Fourteen practitioners including Mr. Nie Chonghua, Mr. Zhong Dongsheng, Ms. Meng Fang, and Mr. Can Jiguang were arrested at Ms. Tang Sulan's home by more than thirty plainclothes officers on July 25, 2014. They were reading Falun Gong books. They had to provide a blood sample.

4. [Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province] One Practitioner Sentenced and One Detained
Mr. Zhang Maocheng was sentenced to a three year and six month prison term in April 2014.
Ms. Jiang Yan was arrested on July 18, 2014, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is being held at the Huzhou City Detention Center.

5. [Beijing] Two Practitioners Detained
Ms. Liu Yujuan and another practitioner were arrested by officers from the Fengsheng Police Station on July 22, 2014, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police ransacked their homes and they are being held at the Xicheng District Detention Center.

6. [Sunwu County, Heilongjiang Province] Two Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Yang Lihua was arrested by officers from the Sunwu County Police Department, the procuratorate and the court on August 1, 2014. She is being held at the Hongguang Detention Center in Sunwu County.
It was said that Mr. Zhao Zhongyu was recently sentenced to a three-year prison term.

7. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. An Xiangyu Sentenced
Mr. An Xiangyu was sentenced to a five-year prison term.
8. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Hui Arrested
Ms. Sun Hui was arrested at her barber shop by four or five officers from the Bayuquan Domestic Security Division on the morning of July 29, 2014. The police confiscated her Falun Gong books, truth-clarification DVDs about Falun Gong, and other personal items. She was taken to the Yingkou City Detention Center.
9. [Nantong City, Jiangsu Province] Two Practitioners Arrested and Ms. Chun's Whereabouts Unknown
Mr. Zhu Chuncai, 49, was arrested on the afternoon of July 10, 2014, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. He is being held at the 610 Office Brainwashing Center of the Nantong City Traffic Department.
Ms. Chun Jing was arrested on the same day and her whereabouts is unknown.
10. [Yanji City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Qiyu Died Due to Torture
Ms. Li Qiyu, 68, was arrested several times and tortured during interrogation. She passed away on July 21, 2014.
11. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Shufeng Arrested
Ms. Zhang Shufeng was arrested by officers from the Yuxilu Police Station on July 24, 2014, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong on a public bus. Zhang Chunjie from the Zhifu District 610 Office and officers from the police station ransacked her home that afternoon and confiscated a computer, two printers, and approximately 10,000 yuan. Ms. Zhang was released that evening because she failed the physical examination required for detention.

12. [Laiwu City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Detained
Ms. Duan Yuanling, Ms. Liu Erni and her husband Mr. Mi were arrested on July 25, 2014, for distributing truth-clarification materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. They are being held at the Taian Detention Center.
13. [Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Shuqiu Detained
Ms. Wang Shuqiu was arrested by officers from the Xining Police Department on July 31, 2014. She is being held at the Liaoyuan City Detention Center.
14. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Mr. Cao Bangyang Arrested
Mr. Cao Bangyang was arrested at work at noon on August 1, 2014. The police ransacked his home and confiscated three printers, two computers, a laptop computer, two paper cutters, a sharpening machine, a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Gong books, and other personal items.
15. [Shenzhou City, Hebei Province] Two Practitioners Detained
Ms. Xie Xiaowen and Ms. Meng Lingshang were arrested by officers including Yang Qingyu from the Dafengying County Police Station on the morning of August 1, 2014, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They are being held at the police station.
