(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wu Guohui, an elementary school teacher, filed a criminal complaint against the former Chinese president Jiang Zemin, charging Jiang with murder, torture, illegal detention, violation of freedom of belief, as well as inflicting mental and physical harm.

The criminal complaint was mailed via express mail to the Supreme People's Procuratorate with a confirmation receipt dated May 29, 2015.

After the persecution started on July 20, 1999, Ms. Wu had been illegally detained three times and sentenced to prison for three and a half years for practicing Falun Gong. Her home was illegally searched and ransacked many times, and she was forced to leave her home. Her family was illegally detained and threatened. Even now, she dares not return home, fearing further persecution.

Years of Torture, Brainwashing

In 2000, police illegally detained Ms. Wu in July for 11 days and again in October for a month. Police extorted over 15,000 yuan from her family.

Ms. Wu was taken to Chifeng Brainwashing Center from work in March 2003. Police forced her to squat, and then to stand for long periods of time. Over a dozen people surrounded her and beat her for several hours. She was forced to watch videos that defame Falun Gong and ordered to write “guarantee statements” renouncing her belief in Falun Gong.

In June 2011, Ms. Wu was arrested on her way to the market to buy groceries. She was illegally detained for six months before she was sentenced to three and a half years for practicing Falun Gong.

While under police custody and at the detention center, Ms. Wu was shocked with electric batons, brutally beaten, force-fed, and forcibly given injections of unknown drugs.

After Ms. Wu was sent Hohhot Women's Prison, the torture continued. During her imprisonment Ms. Wu was examined at a hospital and diagnosed with uterine endometrial cancer, a lung infection, a gastric ulcer, gastritis, cholecystitis, and severe anemia and potassium deficiencies. Her weight dropped from 165 pounds to 66 pounds. She was said to be “nothing but skin and bones.”

In May 2012, Ms. Wu was at the point of death and released on medical parole. When she returned home, authorities continued harassing her and her family. She had no choice but to leave home to avoid further persecution. After she left, police placed her on a wanted list, which prevented her from finding work.

Ms. Wu Guohui before persecution

Ms. Wu Guohui three days after her release from prisonMs. Wu and her family have been monitored and spied on for 16 years. Her family lives in constant fear, worry, and humiliation. They have had little peace in their lives. Officers from the neighborhood committee often come by to check on them. Even her husband was detained for 12 days on suspicion of concealing criminal activity when police arrested Ms. Wu in 2011.

Background

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners in the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
