(Minghui.org) In recent years, when I tried to tell people in China what Falun Gong is and how it is persecuted by the communist regime, I often had touching experiences.
Once, a court policeman said to me, “You Falun Gong people are great. You take risks and only consider others. When you talk to people, you can't tell who is good and who is bad. But you're not afraid of telling people about Falun Gong, only because you want him or her to know the truth. It's really not easy to pass out flyers in the severe weather. Although I am a court policeman, I admire you Falun Gong people.”
He added, “I know well that Falun Gong is good. One practitioner has helped me quit the Communist Party. Nowadays, nobody trusts this Party anymore. I don't think it will last long. As a policeman of the court, I've witnessed too many cases in which the Party persecutes good people and lets the bad ones go.”
Of course, not everyone supports Falun Gong at first. Sometimes I ran into people who cursed at me, or even tried to take me to a police station because I talked about Falun Gong in public. Facing these kinds of people, I never got scared or frustrated. With a genuine smile, I always tell them not to be angry, and clarify to them that the reason I tell them about Falun Gong is that I want them to know the truth and have a good future for themselves.
Reaching Out to Those Misinformed
There was this 70-year old lady, who often cursed at practitioners at a bus station. She also tried to stop others from listening to us. I felt bad for her, because she had been brainwashed by the Communist Party's propaganda.
I talked to her many times with great patience. After figuring out why she had such strong negative feelings towards Falun Gong, I cleared up her misunderstandings. She witnessed how we helped others at the bus station, how we patiently treated others when they cursed at us, how we talked to policemen without fears, and how other people thanked us after talking to us. This lady was finally touched by us.
She learned that we spend our own time and money to tell people about Falun Gong. One day, she said to me, “Your teacher has taught so many good people. I see the power and compassion of Falun Gong.” Now, she always smiles to us and greets me by saying, “Falun Dafa is good!”
No Fear
Last April, I went to pass out Shen Yun DVDs at a public place. Most people accepted my materials, but one guy caught my arm and claimed that he would take me to a police station.
“Why are you here passing out Falun Gong stuff?” he asked. I said, “I just want you to see the beauty of Falun Gong so you'll have a good future.”
“I'm taking you to the police station!” he threatened. I smiled, “You're blessed to have a chance to learn what Falun Gong really is. We have a predestined relationship. Less fortunate people wouldn't run into me.”
He released me. I smiled to other people standing around, “This brother won't joke like that again in the future.” He smiled, too. I took this chance to pass out the DVDs to other people. Some took more copies for their friends and neighbors.
Bitter Neighbor Turns Sweet
An old neighbor of mine often made trouble in our subdivision. Nobody liked her, but I always helped her. She also saw how I treated our neighbors. I have tailoring skills, so I often help neighbors to make clothes for free. The neighbors sometimes occupy my yard and home for their stuff, but I never got mad or charged them.
After I talked to this old neighbor several times, she stopped cursing at others. She often told the neighbors that Falun Gong teaches people to be kind. When she was sick, I organized the neighbors to help her, and I myself spent a lot of time taking care of her.
Before she passed away, she apologized to everybody whom she had cursed at or hurt before. Later, some of the neighbors told me that the reason the old lady apologized to the community is because she had learned the principles of Falun Gong.
