(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 14 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Ms. Xie Guifang Sentenced to Five Years in Prison
2. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] The Cases Against Six Practitioners Submitted to the Court
3. [Jingzhou City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhao Kunli Arrested and Detained
4. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Li Shuilian Fined
5. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhao Sucai Harassed
6. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Hongyan Arrested and Detained
7. [Laixi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Cuiqing and Her Husband Mr. Yuan Chongqi Arrested and Detained
8. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhang Guofang Arrested
1. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Ms. Xie Guifang Sentenced to Five Years in Prison
Ms. Xie Guifang from Qilihe District, 64, was arrested by officers in the Qilihe District on February 28, 2023. She was later sentenced to five years in prison by Chengguan District Court and is currently held in the No.1 Detention Center of Lanzhou City.
Ms. Xie was sentenced to four years in prison in September 2012. She was arrested and detained for 15 days in December 2021.
2. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] The Cases Against Six Practitioners Submitted to the Court
The cases against six practitioners were recently submitted to the court. The practitioners are Ms. Li Mingxia, Ms. Zheng Zhimei, Ms. Li Yeshu, Mr. Luo Bingxin, Ms. Xu Huancui, and Ms. Li Hongmei.
3. [Jingzhou City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhao Kunli Arrested and Detained
Ms. Zhao Kunli was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong and was arrested. Her home was ransacked. She was held at the Ximen Detention Center for over a month.
4. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Li Shuilian Fined
Ms. Li Shuilian’s family was forced to pay a fine of 5,000 yuan to the Shahe Police Station in Chaisang District in July 2023. The police threatened the family and told them they would take Ms. Li to court if they did not pay.
5. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhao Sucai Harassed
Ms. Zhao Sucai, 65, lives in Nanzhuang Village, Zhao County. Officers from the county police department went to her home at 4 a.m. on July 4, 2023. Ms. Zhao was not there. The police ransacked her home and took her son and daughter-in-law who were not practitioners, to the police department for questioning. Ms. Zhao left home to avoid further persecution.
6. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Hongyan Arrested and Detained
Ms. Zhang Hongyan was arrested on July 3, 2023, and was detained for one month in the Pudong Detention Center in Jimo City. She was released on August 4, 2023.
7. [Laixi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Cuiqing and Her Husband Mr. Yuan Chongqi Arrested and Detained
Ms. Li Cuiqing and her husband Mr. Yuan Chongqi from Nanlongwangzhuang Village were arrested on July 27, 2023, when they were seen by surveillance cameras distributing information about Falun Gong. The couple was taken to the Laixi City Detention House on July 28, 2023, and held there until they were released on August 7, 2023.
8. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhang Guofang Arrested
Mr. Zhang Guofang who works in Changchun Automobile Factory, was arrested by officers from the Anqing Police Station on July 20, 2023.
