Ms. Lu Guiling, a Practitioner Who Participated in Transmitting Truth-Clarifying Cable TV Broadcasts, Wins Release from Prison after Enduring Inhumane Persecution (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) In 2002, four Falun Gong practitioners from Shandong Province successfully transmitted cable television broadcasts that clarified the facts about Falun Gong to different areas in Weihai City, Shandong Province. Lu Guiling, one of the four practitioners, was sentenced to 19 years in prison. She began her prison term on January 23, 2003. Since she was first detained more than one year ago, after experiencing repeated persecution and staging a long-term hunger strike to protest her illegal detention, her weight has dropped from about 143 lbs to only 68 lbs. On January 15, 2004, Lu Guiling won her release from prison.

Lu Guiling, female, 43, is a resident of Jiangjiazhai District, Weihai City, Shandong Province. In 2002, she worked with three other Falun Gong practitioners (Huang Min, Zhang Lejin, and Jiang Luguang) to successfully transmit cable television broadcasts that clarified the facts about Falun Gong to different areas of Weihai City such as Rongcheng, Rushan, Wendeng, and others. In January of 2003, she was arrested in a place outside of her hometown. She was moved to the Weihai Detention Center and sentenced to 19 years in prison by the Huancui District Court in the city of Weihai. She refused to accept the illegal sentence because she knew that her efforts to clarify the facts and eliminate the damage that the lies have caused people are the most righteous deeds. In order to protest her detention, she began a hunger strike that lasted close to 5 months, and ended up on the verge of death. The authorities were afraid that they would be held accountable for her death, so they sent her home in the name of "parole while awaiting sentencing." All four practitioners who participated in transmitting the cable television broadcast refused to accept the persecution and filed appeals at the Weihai City Intermediate Court.

On September 21, 2003, Lu Guiling was resting at home when four people broke into her home. One person was from the Wenquan Township Police Station. The three other people, including one person named Zhou Dakai, were from the Huancui District Court. They said that Lu Guiling's appeal had ended and the upper court had upheld the original sentence. They took her from her home by force and sent her to the Jinan Prison the next day. At that time, several hundred Dafa practitioners were being detained there. When she was sent to the prison and given a physical, the staff at the prison was initially unwilling to take her in. At that point, she still hadn't regained her full health after staging the previous hunger strike that lasted five months while she was detained at the Weihai City Detention Center. Despite that, the prison staff was forced to hold her there. Starting from the day when she was taken from her home, in order to protest her illegal detention, Lu Guiling was forced to start another round of hunger strike that lasted 4 months.

While holding the second round of hunger strike at the Jinan Prison, the staff there tried to brainwash her but their attempts failed. They then sent people to visit her family members, hoping that they would be willing to talk to her and place pressure on her. But her family members already knew the true facts about Dafa and refused to do so. The prison staff then talked to the "610 Office" (1) at the Weihai City, hoping that they would take her in, but the 610 Office turned down their request. Finally, Lu Guiling was sent to the Jinan Police Hospital at the end of December 2003.

After she was first arrested on January 23, 2003, Lu Guiling had endured persecution that lasted close to 1 year. During the course of the year, she had only been able to spend two months at home. Her weight dropped from 143 lbs to 68 lbs.

After finding out that she was arrested the second time in September 2003, local practitioners began sending righteous thoughts at the top of each hour to assist her in eliminating all the evil elements that had been persecuting her. On January 15, 2003, Lu Guiling won release from prison with full dignity.
