Who Is Truly Controlling the Minds of the People in China -- Part Four
(Clearwisdom.net) Part 1: http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2004/8/2/50927.html While selling fallacies, Jiang's group also utilizes
modern technologies and the national propaganda machine that it controls to
filter and block the spread of the facts about Falun Gong. On one hand, during
the early stages of the suppression of Falun Gong, they destroyed numerous
books, audiotapes and videotapes about Falun Gong teachings to prevent people
from understanding what Falun Gong is. On the other hand, they have blocked all
overseas websites that publish Falun Gong facts, especially those run by Falun
Gong practitioners. They have employed an army of Internet police to monitor the
Internet and persecute Falun Gong practitioners who risk their lives to spread
the truth about Falun Gong. People have been jailed for merely sending a single
email regarding Falun Gong. (One example is Mr. He Lizhi, the husband of
Canadian resident Zhang Li). These practitioners may die of brutal beatings
simply because they sent New Year's greeting cards that carry the words,
"Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." (One example is Falun Gong
practitioner Mr. Liu Jie from Helongjiang province.) They may be brutally
tortured to death as a result of tapping into the TV system to tell the truth
about Falun Gong that cannot be publicized via normal channels. (One example is
Mr. Liu Chengjun.) This tight information control is unprecedented and has
covered up the Jiang group's bloody persecution of Falun Gong for the last five
years. As a result, most Chinese do not know about the persecution at all; many
people don't even believe that persecution as brutal as that mentioned above
could even happen in modern China. Another means of suppressing and eradicating Falun Gong is to control
people's behavior. While it does not hesitate to persecute Falun Gong
practitioners who are brave enough to clarify the facts of the persecution by
utilizing legal channels and defending their rights, Jiang's group has been
exploiting the Communist Party's tradition of launching massive political
movements. They have organized large-scale activities: groups watching movies,
mass denouncement, and the Million People's Petition Drive, etc. to force the
people of the whole nation to become their accomplices. Whoever doesn't support
their crimes, or whoever dares to express their sympathy and support for Falun
Gong will be severely punished. To prevent Falun Gong practitioners from going to Beijing to appeal, the
authorities have placed pictures of the founder of Falun Gong on the ground at
bus stops, at the entrances of train stations and passenger loading platforms,
so that passengers will have to walk on them. In this way, they can tell which
passengers are Falun Gong practitioners, for genuine Falun Gong practitioners
would never disrespect their founder by stepping on his picture. As a result,
they can easily single out Falun Gong practitioners and arrest them. For
instance, the railroad system of Jilin Province has printed words that vilify
Falun Gong on the back of the train tickets. Every passenger has to read these
words. According to an investigation by the World Organization to Investigate the
Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG), the policy of the East China Normal
University for the 2003 postgraduate student admission clearly stated that all
applicants must present their position and their understanding of major
political issues such as Falun Gong. To avoid condemnation from the
international community for their persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and to
deceive the world, Jiang's group has done their best to foster support across
the country by organizing the so-called "Million People Petition." As
WOIPFG reported, the "Million People Petition" began in Beijing on
January 1, 2001, and was then spread across the nation. By mid-March of 2001
when the United Nations Human Rights Conference was held in Geneva, the
"China Anti-Cult Association" (CACA, disguised as an ordinary people's
organization, but sponsored and supported by the government) brought in one ton
(100 rolls) of cloth with, as the organizer claimed, as many as 1.5 million
signatures, which is equivalent to one thousandth of the Chinese population.
According to the report, given that the Chinese government had by then already
banned any organized activities across provinces, such a massive petition must
have received tremendous support from the authorities. For example, in Tianjin,
the Municipal Communist Youth organization directly organized the petition,
while in Jiangxi Province, the signing processes occurred in the provincial
government building. In the higher education system, the Minister of Education
and the local educational authorities also helped to organize the petition. To achieve their goal of mentally controlling the populace, Jiang's group has
taken advantage of the people's trust in the national media and instigated
hatred towards Falun Gong practitioners. This hatred has, in the past five
years, not only spread to the whole country through the official channels of the
central and local governments, the CCP committees and Communist Youth
committees, the educational system, the entertainment system, CACA, labor
unions, women's associations, and various other official organizations, but has
been exported overseas as well. As stated by the WOIPFG reports, on February 6,
2001, under the personal direction of Wang Maolin, the Chairman of the "610
Office" of the Central Government, Zhou Qiang, the First Secretary of the
Central Communist Youth, and Zhao Yong, the Chairman of the Secretariat of the
Central Committee (of the CCP), about eight million youngsters from nearly one
thousand communities of the one hundred largest metropolitan areas were incited
to participate in the anti-Falun Gong propaganda movement. On a single day, they
hung over 500,000 posters, distributed over ten million flyers, and organized
over two hundred public gatherings to vilify Falun Gong. In February 2001, some
young people who were coerced and exploited, without knowing any of the truth
about Falun Gong, helped launch the "Twelve Million People Petition"
signature campaign in 1,500 youth organizations in the one hundred largest
metropolitan areas. The signers of that petition pledged to "Not Believe,
Not Spread, and To Suppress" (the Falun Gong teachings). By exploiting
these youngsters, the authorities have spread the "Anti-Falun Gong"
movement across the nation. Because of Jiang's personal jealousy of Falun Gong's popularity, violence and
hatred has been deeply infused into the entire Chinese society. After the staged
"Self-Immolation" incident, the criticism of Falun Gong turned into
the condemnation of Falun Gong. This terrible piece of propaganda covered every
corner of China through every possible medium, including radio stations, TV
stations, and newspapers, and has lead many people to lose their calm and
rational thinking on the Falun Gong issue. Falun Gong practitioners who strive
hard to cultivate themselves to become good citizens not only lost respect and
understanding from the people in their communities, but also became the target
of overwhelming hatred. Finally, always wanting to control people's thoughts, Jiang's group routinely
uses brainwashing techniques against Falun Gong practitioners. This has been
thoroughly analyzed in the previous sections of this discussion. In addition,
Jiang's group has been selling its slander of Falun Gong to the entire
citizenry, including children. The money spent on this and the way it is being
done is indeed unprecedented. What is their goal? Clearly, it is to force the
population to accept their lies about Falun Gong, unconditionally and without
reservation. It is to control people's thoughts and to coerce them to become
complicit in persecuting Falun Gong. As evidenced by these numerous facts, it is not Falun Gong that mentally and
spiritually controls the people in modern China. Rather, it is Jiang's group
that has been suppressing and persecuting Falun Gong. Despite the Jiang group's
clamor for "anti-cult" vigilance, their actions closely resemble those
of cults. In spite of their claims that they are helping Falun Gong
practitioners to "get rid of the mental control," they are actually
engaging in brainwashing people. In fact, due to their extensive methods of
brainwashing, Jiang's group can quite arguably be considered an "evil
cult." Like the outdated "Anti-Feudalism" and
"Anti-Superstition" slogans and movements, the "Anti-Cult"
and "Anti-Mental Control" movements are merely current political clubs
and slanderous appellations with which Jiang's group uses to persecute Falun
Gong practitioners. All kind-hearted people, please watch out for hypocrites who are waving the
flag of "Anti-cult and Anti-mental control," but who themselves are
committing the crimes of evil cults. Please wake up from their mental control! Written on June 11, 2004; Revised on July 7, 2004
