Practitioners That Have Been Persecuted in Xujiahu Township, Yishui County, Shandong Province

Remembering Practitioner Mr. Zhao Xianren

Mr. Zhao Xianren, about 60 years old, was from Dongzhaojialou Village, Xujiahu Township, Yishui County. He was the coordinator of the Falun Gong practice site in Xujiahu Township. In mid-July 1999, he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. He was arrested and taken back to Xujiahu Township, where he was forced to squat in the front courtyard of the Township Committee CCP Office for several hours. Several days later, he and other practitioners in the township were taken to the assembly hall for brainwashing.

In February or March 2000, he went to Beijing to validate the Fa once again. He was detained in the Yishui County Detention Center for one month. During that month, the guards inflicted inhuman torture on him. At the end of that monoth, he was taken to the Xujiahu Township brainwashing center.

In July or August 2001, personnel of the Linyi City 610 Office took him to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp for a two-year term. He was so devastated, both mentally and physically, that after he returned home from the labor camp in mid-August 2005, he died. His name has never been cleared of the false charge against him.

Xujiahu Township Brainwashing Center

In mid-July 1999, practitioners Mr. Zhao Xianren, Ms. Chen Xiang, Mr. Shang Xueming, Mr. Zhao Mingjiang, Ms. Wang Qingfang, and Mr. Bian Yudong went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. They were arrested and taken back to Xujiahu Township. Several days later, they were rounded up and taken to the assembly hall. That night, they were detained in the Xujiahua Middle School. The next day, they were subjected to brainwashing for one day.

In March and April 2000, the Xujiahu Township CCP Committee held brainwashing sessions for the seven Falun Gong practitioners in the township. The persecuted practitioners included Mr. Liu Huasan, a retired teacher from Kuaibao Village; Mr. Shang Xueming and his wife, Ma Yuanxia; a couple from Fengtaihu Village who were detained after they appealed for Falun Gong in Beijing and have just released; Mr. Zhao Xianren, who was just released as well; Mr. Zhao Mingjiang from Baoquan Village; and Mr. Bian Yudong, a former teacher, and his wife ,Wang Qingfang, who was working in a hospital and expecting a baby in June. The brainwashing session lasted for two months. Up until the last day, those in charged attacked Mr. Zhao Mingjiang, Mr. Shang Xueming, and Ms. Ma Yuanxia brutally since they refused to be "transformed."

Practitioners in Xujiahu Township that have been persecuted:
Mr. Zhao Xianren, detained once for 30 days and sent to a forced labor camp for two years (He was persecuted to death.)
Mr. Zhao Mingjiang, detained twice and sent to a labor camp for three years
Mr. Shang Xueming, detained twice for 60 days
Ms. Ma Yuanxia, detained once for 30 days
Ms.Wang Qingfang, detained once for 19 days
Mr. Bian Yudong, detained once for eight days
Mr. Zhang Xiangxing, detained once for 30 days and sentenced to a labor camp for two years (She died outside the camp.)
Mr. Zhang Yuguo, Mr. Zhang Xiangxing's son, detained once for 30 days and sent to a labor camp for two years
Ms. Zhao Shufan, detained once for 30 days and sent to a labor camp for two and a half years.
