Recent Arrests of Practitioners in Qianan City, Hebei Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioners Cui Qingru and Li Qingsong from Qianan City were arrested again and taken to the local detention center. At present, many practitioners are held at this detention center.

On December 22, 2007, policeman Bu Yonglai took practitioner Cui Qinru from her home to the police station. She was then sent to the detention center in Qianan City and has not yet returned home.

Ms. Cui Qingru is a retired community employee who had been arrested at home in October 2007 and taken to the detention center in Qianan City. While there, Ha Fulong used an electric baton to shock her back and kicked her. Policeman Bu Yonglai extorted 20,000 yuan from Cui Qingru's brother and then released her. However on December 22, 2007, a policeman said the officials needed to discuss a matter with Ms. Cui and took her to Qianan Police Department. Once there, Bu Yonglai took her to the detention center. The persecutors are planning a secret trial for her.

Mr. Li Qingsong is an employee at the Economics and Agriculture Center and had been arrested several times before. The arrest in October 2007 was the third time he was arrested at his home. He is now detained at the Qianan City Detention Center. The officials plan to bring him to court and sentence him secretly. Li Qingsong's wife Zhou Xiuxia has been incarcerated at the Kaiping Forced Labor Camp in Tangshan City for almost a year. Their teenage son is now left alone at home.

Li Yankui and his wife Zhao Minghua have been transferred from the Zhongzi Company Brainwashing Center to the Qianan City Detention Center.

Wang Weiyue is detained at the same center. Yuan Chunlin, who had been held there as well, has been released.

At present, several other practitioners are being held at the Qianan City Detention Center. Their names are unknown.
