• Intensified Persecution at Masanjia Forced Labor Camp During the Olympics

Masanjia Forced Labor Camp escalated the persecution. Guards tortured Falun Gong practitioners with electric batons, placed them on the "Stretching Bed," forced them to stand in the hot sun for long periods of time, slapped their faces, and beat them.

• Ms. Cao Junfeng's Home Ransacked by Police for the Second Time

Ms. Cao Junfeng was arrested on July 9. The police searched her home again after her daughter requested to visit her in jail.

• A Special Torture Instrument at Weifang City Detention Center: Shackled to a Cross

A special instrument of torture is made of steel bars and metal plumbs. When a victim is shackled to the instrument, his or her arms are stretched out like a cross. The person's hands are shackled separately and the legs are shackled together. Once affixed, the victim is tortured and force-fed, sometimes for as long as a few consecutive days and nights.

• Mr. Ma Kaihua Inhumanly Abused by Police in Renqiu City, Hebei Province

On the morning of August 8, about 50 policemen surrounded Ma Kaihua's house. They violently beat Mr. Ma Kaihua. Mr. Ma lost conciousness from the beating and was diagnosed with hematoma and head bone fracture.

• Crimes Committed Inside the Huhhot Women's Narcotic Rehabilitation Center

The Huhhot Women's Narcotic Rehabilitation Center is used as cover to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. This article notes some of the methods used by guards and drug addict inmates to brainwash practitioners.

• Mr. Liu Chengda from Jilin City Detained for Over a Year

Mr. Liu suffers police abuse and his family can get no official investigation or explanation of his case.

• Ms. Gao Guofeng in Critical Condition from Abuse, Authorities Deny Family's Requests to Take Her to a Hospital

Ms. Gao has been detained for about a year and is in critical condition from gross abuse. Her family was called with news she was critically ill, then told she was recovering. When the family was allowed to see her, she spoke of being tortured and showed obvious signs of torture. After this she was refused release for medical treatment and her family was not allowed to see her again.

• Young Woman Tortured to the Verge of Death at Weifang City Detention Center

After being arrested on July 9, 2008, Ms. Kong Xi has suffered over two months of torture and is on the verge of death. Several of her family members have also been detained.

• Ms. Wang Haiqing from Shandong Province Is in Critical Condition As a Result of Being Tortured in Detention

Since her arrest on May 1, 2008, Ms. Wang Haiqing's condition has deteriorated, and she is in critical condition, but the police still refuse to release her.

• Professor Xu Yin from Tsinghua University Tells His Story as a Victim of the CCP's Persecution of Falun Gong

Professor Xu Yin of Tsinghua University in Beijing makes a statement in which he explains why he practices Falun Gong and his plight of being incarcerated for two years for practicing Falun Gong. Professor Xu Yin also announces in the statement his intention to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its two affiliated student leagues.

• Daughter Died Due to Persecution, Mother Sentenced to Forced Labor Again

Because of practicing Falun Gong, Ms. Chen Xiuling is imprisoned at Jiamusi City Forced Labor Camp to serve one year and half year term. It is her third time in a forced labor camp. Her daughter Miss Chen Ying was the first victim to die from the persecution in Jiamusi City in 1999.
