(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in seven provinces. In this report, 36 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 13 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Yi County, Hebei Province] Ms. Ma Xiaoying Arrested
Ms. Ma Xiaoying from Beishan Village, Beishan Town, was arrested around 5:00 p.m. on June 12, 2010.
2. [Nanjing, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Sun Youmei Arrested
Ms. Sun Youmei from Nanjing City was arrested at work on June 25, 2010. Her whereabouts are unknown. Her home was ransacked. The police left with her computer, printer, and other personal property.
3. [Chengdu, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xiao Jianrong Held in a Brainwashing Facility
Ms. Xiao Jianrong from the Xindu District was arrested and incarcerated in the Xinjin Brainwashing Center on June 24, 2010.
4. [Beijing] Mr. Pang You Held in Qianjin Prison
Mr. Pang You was arrested on June 24, 2010, and taken to the Beijing Dispatch Division for People from Out of Town. He was then taken to Qianjin Prison a week later.
Mr. Pang had previously been arrested on August 3, 2009, as he spoke with people about Falun Gong. Officers from the Laiguangying Police Station in the Chaoyang District and from the Olympic Village Office made the arrest. Mr. Pang had also spent eight years in the Qianjin Prison prior to his arrest in 2009.
5. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Additional Information Regarding the Circumstances of Ms. Han Jing and Ms. Guo Yuling
Ms. Han Jing and Ms. Guo Yuling were arrested on June 20, 2010. Officers from the Beiyuan Police Station in the Qinhuangdao Northern Industrial Region made the arrests. The two practitioners have been transferred to Tangshan.
6. [Hebei Province] Circumstances of Practitioners in Gaobeidian City
Gaobeidian Domestic Security Division's 610 Office agents, along with agents from the Baoding City Domestic Security Division's 610 Office and local police, harassed practitioners Ms. Deng Zhimei, Ms. Liu Huiping, Ms. Wang Xiufen, and Ms. Wang Yun in Gaobeidian City on June 12, 2010.
That same day, 20 additional practitioners were harassed: Mr. Zhou Chunyu and his wife, Ms. Song Changqing, Ms. Liu Fengying, Ms. Wang Huanling, Ms. Zhao Lanying, Mr. Da Guan, Mr. Meng, Mr. Gao, Mr. Sun, Mr. Rong, Ms. Zhang Wenjuan, Ms. Zong Xiuqin, Ms. Li Chunxiang, Ms. Zhang Xiuying, Ms. Chu Ziliang, Ms. Hong Mei, Ms. Cao Chunhua, Ms. Hu Yanzhi, and Ms. Tian Guilan.
Eight practitioners were arrested: Mr. Wang Tieqiang, Mr. Hu Zhenchun, Mr. Tian Zhitong, Ms. Liu Sumei, Ms. Zhang Yuqin, Ms. Zhang Bianrong, Ms. Ge Xiuying, and Ms. Xiao Weiling. Mr. Wang, Mr. Hu, and Mr. Tian are now in the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Liu, Ms. Zhang Yuqin, Ms. Zhang Bianrong, Ms. Ge, and Ms. Xiao are in Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp. Their families are not allowed to visit them.
7. [Yueyang, Hunan Province] Circumstances Concerning Ms. Zhang Lihong
Ms. Zhang Lihong from Yueyang City was arrested on the morning of July 2, 2010, as she distributed information about Falun Gong in Meitanba Town, Ning Township. She was taken to the local police station but was able to escape. Her whereabouts are unknown. Local police ransacked her mother's home and confiscated Falun Gong books, a computer, printer, DVDs, and other personal property.
8. [Changsha, Hunan Province] Ms. Zhu Xiaoyang Arrested
Ms. Zhu Xiaoyang, 61, was arrested on the evening of July 1, 2010, as she posted information about Falun Gong near the Changsha City West Bus Station. Her whereabouts are unknown.
9. [Lichang County, Hebei Province] Additional Information Regarding the Arrests of Mr. Hao Yuanchao and His Wife, Ms. Ding Shurong
Mr. Hao Yuanchao and his wife, Ms. Ding Shurong, were arrested on the morning of June 28, 2010, as they spoke with people about Falun Gong in Liangshan Township. Their motorcycle was impounded. The police later ransacked their home and seized their computer, telephone, Falun Gong books, and other personal property. The two practitioners are now in the Changli County Detention Center. Their families are forbidden from visiting them.
10. [Hunan Province] Additional Information Regarding the Hengyang Railway Police Department Officers' Persecution of Practitioners
Ms. Liu Chunyu and her relatives were eating at a restaurant near the metallurgical plant on June 15, 2010, when four railway police officers, including Zhou Sihua, arrested Ms. Liu when they asked to check her identification card. The police ransacked Ms. Liu's home and seized three printers, a computer, scanner, cell phone, U drive, bankbook, and Falun Gong books and other personal property, worth nearly 30,000 yuan.
Ms. Li Qi and Ms. Zhou Jinlian were also arrested and their homes were ransacked.
11. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Additional Information Regarding the Arrest of Ms. Chen Dongmei
Ms. Chen Dongmei was reading a Falun Gong book at home around 3:30 p.m. on June 30 2010, when six officers from the Qingshanhu Domestic Security Division and the Xihu Domestic Security Division broke into her home and arrested her. They ransacked her home and confiscated a notebook computer, a desktop computer, cell phone, Falun Gong books, and copy of Minghui Weekly. Ms. Chen was taken to the Xinjian County No.1 Detention Center on July 1, 2010.

12. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Xu Weidong Transferred to Wumaping Prison
Mr. Xu Weidong from the Wenjiang District was sentenced to ten years in prison in 2002 and held in Guangyuan Prison. He was transferred to Wumaping Prison in Leshan City on June 10, 2010.
13. [Anlu City, Hubei Province] Mr. Wang Huashan and Mr. Huang Xuejun Live away from Home to Avoid Persecution
Mr. Wang Huashan, a teacher at Anlu City's No. 2 High School, and Mr. Huang Xuejun, a pharmacist from the Anlu City Puai Hospital, were forced to go to the Anlu Brainwashing Center on July 2, 2010. They were able to escape and now live away from home to avoid further persecution.
14. [Wuhan, Hubei Province] Mr. Liu Kewei and Ms. Yan Peizhen Arrested
Mr. Liu Kewei, Ms. Yan Peizhen, and two other practitioners from the Caidian District were arrested on the morning of June 26, 2010, as they spoke with people about Falun Gong in Xuguang Village, Bolin Town. Officers from the Bolin Street Police Station made the arrests. Caidian District Police Department's Domestic Security Division officials impounded Mr. Liu's car. He is in the Wuhan City No.1 Detention Center. Ms. Yuan is in the Wuhan City No.2 Detention Center.
15. [Tonghai County, Yunnan Province] 85-Year Old Practitioner Dies in the County Police Department
Mr. Li Tinggui, 85, and his wife, Ms. Xie Baofen, distributed Falun Gong information on April 10, 2010, at a market on 7th Street. Plainclothes police officers confiscated all of their informational materials. Two days later, on April 12, five officers from the Tonghai County Police Department, including Huang Chengshun and Mu Yanping, ransacked the couple's home and seized all their Falun Gong materials. These officers went to the couple's home again three days later to extort money from them. The elderly couple was forced to give them 1,500 yuan.
Two days after that, on April 17, 2010, the county police department's 610 Office agent Huang Chengshun and others pressured and intimidated Mr. Li, who died at 9:00 a.m. that same day in the county police department. The cause of his death is unclear.
