(Clearwisdom.net) The Fa-rectification has reached this stage, but some practitioners still have strong attachments to depending on others. They also know that they should validate the Fa; however, they haven’t dared to do so because of their attachment to fear and have instead pushed the responsibility onto others. Those attachments are actually very bad. It is a selfish heart indeed, which is far from Master’s requirement “...attain the righteous Enlightenment of selflessness and altruism.” (“Non-Omission in Buddha-Nature,” from Essentials for Further Advancement)

Several coordinators in my local area were arrested one after another in 2009. For quite some time, practitioners here relied too much on coordinators for truth-clarification materials. Whatever materials we needed, we just asked the coordinators and they took care of everything. Some practitioners even called these coordinators “boss.” Thus, several coordinators were also affected and took on everything. These loopholes were taken advantage of by the old forces. Those coordinators were arrested, which was a tremendous loss to our effort of clarifying the truth and saving sentient beings.

After exchanging cultivation experiences, practitioners enlightened to the understanding that we should upgrade ourselves as one body. We should get rid of our habit of depending on coordinators.

We are Dafa disciples in the Fa-rectification period. Each of us needs to cultivate ourselves and walk our own path, rather than depending on others. Master has mentioned several times: “I want each person to be tempered to maturity.” ("Teaching the Fa at the Meeting with Asia-Pacific Students") So we need to really be tempered to maturity, instead of just letting coordinators do everything.

However, this long-term habit was not easy to change. In the beginning, some practitioners went out to purchase materials still holding on to the attachment of fear and thus returned with nothing. They didn’t try to find the reason from the Fa; instead, they complained about the troubles they had encountered while doing things by themselves. This is not looking within. Some practitioners even complained about every single difficulty they had. Master has told us that everything we do is for ourselves, nothing is done for Master.

Those practitioners were used to depending on others. They had not eliminated their attachment to fear. When they did things, they used human thinking, rather than being:

“Gods walk the earth,
validating the Fa”

(“What’s to Fear?” from Hong Yin Vol. II)

When we encounter trouble, while doing things, isn’t it a chance for us to improve? Without tribulations, we cannot improve. Without improving ourselves, how can we reach consummation? If everything is done by others, it is others that improve. What do we cultivate, then?

In addition, some practitioners considered it persecution whenever they felt uncomfortable, and asked practitioners to help with sending forth righteous thoughts. They didn’t realize that they also had the ability to dissolve the problem by themselves, and they still depended on others.

In conclusion, the attachments of depending on others and fear are something we must get rid of. We cannot reach consummation with them. Therefore, we need to study the Fa more, study the Fa well, and strengthen our righteous thoughts in order to eliminate these attachments. Let us fulfill our missions.
