(Clearwisdom.net) In communist China today, people with good physical health are subjected to illegal detention, forced labor and imprisonment because they practice Falun Gong; because they follow Falun Gong's central tenet of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and because they cultivate their characters to become better people in accordance with these principles.

Mistreatment, brainwashing, cruel physical abuse and every conceivable means of physical, mental and drug torture are forced upon these good people because the Chinese Communist Party does not tolerate freedom of belief, and it particularly targets Falun Gong. Thus many of these healthy people become disabled, maimed, with some even face the risk of amputation, and too many are even killed as a result. Such cases have occurred numerous times in the persecution of Falun Gong since it began in earnest and became official policy in 1999.

Several examples of such cases are briefly summarized below:

1. Healthy Woman Faces Possible Amputation as a Result of Injections with Unknown Drugs

Sixty-year-old Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Song Huilan from Xinhua Farm, Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province, was again taken into custody by police on December 13, 2010. She was injected with unknown drugs during her two months incarceration at the Tangyuan County Detention Center.

She was tortured to the point of having difficulty responding, losing her memory, her tongue was stiff, and her legs and feet became black and necrotic. She was released on March 1, 2011. Her family took her to two hospitals in Jiamusi City for treatment, but the doctors refused to treat her or accept her as a patient. They told her family the only way was to amputate, and that her condition was critical. Ms. Song was in terrible condition after being injected with unknown drugs. Her body was stiff, her eyes glazed over, her right leg, foot and toes were necrotic, having turned black and oozing yellow fluid.

2. Mr. Wang Xinchun Loses His Feet Because of “Frostbite”

Thirty-five year old Mr. Wang Xinchun is from the Fengmao Tree Farm in the Jinshantun District in Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province. When he distributed truth-clarifying flyers at the farm on January 8, 2002, police station head Wang Wei and policeman "A" saw him. Mr. Wang tried to escape by walking up the mountain, and policemen Wang Shoumin and Min Changchun pursued him through the night into the next morning. Mr. Wang was unfamiliar with the area and fell into a pond. His legs up to his knees became wet and soon iced up. The police surrounded the mountain to try to catch him. Two days later police station head Wang Wei and policeman "A" arrested Mr. Wang. Wang Wei and police department head Cui Yuzhong ordered policeman "A" to put Mr. Wang's feet into a washbasin with very hot water (which is not the thing to do and will aggravate the frostbite and cause severe injury). The police pulled Mr. Wang's shoes off and put his feet into hot water. When they arrested Mr. Wang on the mountain, he was still able to walk and his legs were not completely frostbitten. Only after the police put his feet in boiling water did the injury become irreversible.

Mr. Wang's feet continued to swell and blister. His lower legs also blistered. He was sent home later. After several months of festering, his feet had become completely un-savable. 3. Mr. Wang Gang's Leg was Amputated While in Prison

Forty-one-year old Mr. Wang Gang was a farmer in Xiweituo Village, Yihezhuang, Matou Town, Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province. He was sentenced to ten years in prison for practicing Falun Gong. He was grossly abused at the Baoding Prison. Guard Fan Jianli kicked his right leg numerous times. During a physical check-up, doctors at a hospital told him that he had a bone fracture in the right leg; his muscles and blood vessels had become necrotic, and he had vascular inflammation. The doctors said that his leg needed to be amputated, otherwise the toxins would attack his heart, and his life would be in danger. Mr. Wang's right leg was amputated. Years later, after a total of eight years imprisonment, he died the evening of the 16^th day following his release. (For more information, please see

Mr. Wang Gang from Zhuozhou, Hebei Province

Mr. Wang Gang was well known among villagers who were familiar with him for being righteous and a kindhearted person. He used the standard of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to measure his thoughts and actions. He showed great kindness to other people and was willing to help them unconditionally. Such a good person became a cripple and died as a result of torture. The night of Mr. Wang's burial, an overwhelmingly heavy snow that hadn't been seen in 50 years poured down. Local people remarked that this represented the heavens mourning the tragic death of a good man.

4. Mr. Yang Zhanjiu's Feet Festered and became Disabled, Resulting from Seven years of Illegal Imprisonment

Mr. Yang Zhanjiu was arrested in August 2002 and held at the Yushu City Detention Center where he suffered brutal tortures. He was sentenced to a seven-year prison term in March 2004. The tortures continued at the Shiling Prison in Siping City, Jilin Province. As a result, both of his legs were fractured; he had a broken ankle, and one of his heel bones was completely gone. He became handicapped and was released toward the end of August 2009.

The fractures in Mr. Yang's feet have recovered, but his feet were deformed and oozed pus. Furthermore, he can no longer walk and has to depend on others to take care of him.

Mr. Yang’s two children are now in middle school. Their mother Ms. Li Shuhua died when they were very young. Now Mr. Yang and his children have to rely on his relatives for support and his children's schooling.

Mr. Yang’s wife, Li Shuhua, was arrested and taken to the Yushu City Detention Center on September 24, 2003. Fourteen days later she died as a result of torture. She was only 32 years old. After her arrest, the guards covered her head with plastic bags and then stabbed her fingertips, arms, back and chest with big needles. Other detainees and personnel could hear her cries. After sealing her lips they struck her eyes so hard, the force dislodged one of her eyeballs out of the socket. Ms. Li lost consciousness with terrible, heart-rending cries of agony. Then the guards asked for instructions from their superior officer. They decided to kill her to keep her silent. The murderers responsible for Ms. Li's death are still at large.

Epilogue

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a traditional Chinese spiritual discipline for mind and body. Its principles are based on Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Its beneficial effects in uplifting an individual's physical health, spiritual well being and moral character have been undeniable. Many people who suffered from all kinds of illnesses watched their problems disappear and became healthy after genuinely practicing Falun Gong. The CCP, however, persecutes good people and turns healthy people into disabled ones. Over the past twelve years of the persecution, the CCP has caused the death of thousands of practitioners, of which more than three thousand have been documented and confirmed by the Minghui website.
